Continue ReadingThis past weekend I was tasked with going out to Chicago to cover an event that our company put on for the Boys side of things but that doesn’t mean that I wasn’t paying attention to the action happening in other parts of the country. In this article I highlight some prospects that stood out this past weekend while doing their thing. Prospects that recruiters should keep an eye on moving forward because they have shown more times than not, that they are capable of producing at a high-level in any given situation.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
I am a big fan of Callie Hales Callie Hales 5’8″ | PG Gilbert | 2027 State IA and what she brings to the floor, every time she is out there competing. Hales is a fast-twitch Guard, that can handle and create at an extremely high rate. She is also the type of prospect that can score in a number of different ways in a hurry if need be. This past weekend, this was all on full display for Hales at her tournament. She was making opponents fall over because of her handling abilities and from there she was either creating for others to get an open look or she was getting into the teeth of the defense and scoring herself. Anyone who knows what Hales can do, wouldn’t be surprised by this. She is a prospect that is going to get a shot at playing collegiate ball at the end of the day if she so chooses. She is primed for an impressive Spring/Summer on the AAU scene coming up these next few months. She just needs to keep up the hard-work and stay locked in.

Lilyan Sizemore was a spectral to watch this past high school season on the Varsity floor the way that she produced and that is not going to slow down anytime soon by the looks of it. Sizemore can flat out hoop. Plain and simple. She works hard on and off of the ball, always producing but she is CLEARLY at her best as the Point Guard for whatever team she is lacing up with. This AAU season has been an interesting one to say the least for Sizemore and her Mac Irvin 15U team. Sizemore has demonstrated that she has a smart head on her shoulders as well to make good decisions when it matters. Once this team figures out who they are a little bit better, they have some real ballers who are going to show out and Sizemore is in that conversation.

When I saw Rebecca Aagard Rebecca Aagard 6’2″ | PF North Polk | 2025 State IA compete this past weekend I was both confused and impressed at the same time. Aagard is one of the Top Centers out of the 2025 Class in Iowa and a heck of a competitor. When I saw her at the State tournament a few months ago, her coordination and balance were there but I was only seeing glimpses of it. As in, it was not consistent but this past weekend, Aagard was impressive with her mixture of both of those things. She was catching while rolling to the basket for an easy finish with a soft touch, she was moving side-to-side at a high rate with her feet, and she was EATING on the defensive side of the ball. If Aagard can continue to show her abilities against high level competition the rest of the Spring/Summer, how she did this past weekend, she will be getting a ton of interest from D2 programs across the country, with a possibility of getting some D1 looks as well. You can’t teach size and when you are doing what I saw this weekend at 6’3, it’s truly eye-opening.
I’ve had the chance to see Jensyn Storhoff Jensyn Storhoff 5’7″ | CG Lanesboro | 2026 State MN both in person and on video. Every time she seems to take the floor, she makes something happen. Storhoff is an impressive Guard, that has been fantastic ever since I saw her as a Freshman on the road last Spring. She stood out to me at the 17U level and that play-style has only gotten better with time. This past weekend Storhoff was excellent, especially in her team’s last game against a well ran program in Example Academy out of Chicago. I was originally sitting down to see some players from Iowa competing in this contest but Storhoff stole the show. She was dishing out Assists, scoring in bunches from all three levels, and really feeling herself in every way imaginable whenever she touched the ball. Coming into this AAU season, she has taken a few collegiate visits to D2 programs but this is just the tip of the iceberg. The way she makes things happen and how she makes everyone else around her better is Division 1-esk. If she stays on the path she is currently on, I would be shocked if she didn’t have a D1 offer by the time her Sophomore year of high school ball starts up. She is that impactful on both sides of the floor.

Jhaliana Guy Jhaliana Guy 5’10” | PG Bettendorf | 2028 IA is someone that has been a constant the past few months leading into AAU season and she has started off things right on the road by all of my accounts. Guy is a next-level talent, that can really do it all at this point. She stands at 5’11, she is athletic, and she dominates on both sides of the floor with her experienced skill-set. This past weekend, Guy was doing more of the same for her Mac Irvin 15U team. She was making plays coming down the floor, hitting several shots in a row at Will, and making the others around her better because of her natural ability in the half-court. Guy’s future is up in the air. She competes hard and she is going to get the pick of the litter as it pertains to colleges she might want to attend once her high school career comes to a close. A pretty wild statement to make for a prospect that hasn’t stepped on a high school floor as of yet but she truly is that good at this point.
