In this recent Update, [player_tooltip player_id='642075' first='Lillie' last='Spicer'] of Cedar Rapids - Jefferson High School comes in right outside the Top 10 at #11. Spicer is a powerful post prospect with better than average size and coordination to pair along with that size. Her dominance on both sides of the floor is something that shocks a lot of people when they see her compete and that's been on full display the past couple of months with her [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] 2027 BlueStar team. Over-time she will need to expand her game to having more counter moves out of the post and she will need to add on a midrange jump shot if she wants to play at the highest level possible for collegiate ball but for now, she does pretty well holding her on against any competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='686893' first='Cassidy' last='Danburg'] is one of the tallest prospects out of the 2027 Class in Iowa at this point and she has been putting that size to use this past 12 months with whoever she is lacing up with. Danburg is the player that can get her team several rebounds per contest by simply jumping straight up against any other opponent, she can create stops on defense with her long arms at the rim, and she has great displine to stay down so she doesn't get in foul trouble too often. This upcoming Winter Waukee NW High School is going to have a team that surprises a lot of people. If Danburg plays to her full capabilities, she is going to EAT with that group and I can't wait to see that first hand.

The other big that stands alongside [player_tooltip player_id='642075' first='Lillie' last='Spicer'] with her [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] program is [player_tooltip player_id='881974' first='Emma' last='Zabel'] of Jesup High School. Don't get it twisted, Zabel might not be ranked in the Top 25 for her Class just yet but it's going to happen in the near future if she can lock in mentally. Offensively, she stands at 6'0, she has a couple different counter-moves at the rim to beat her opponent with if she gets stopped, and she seems to always see the positive side of things. This Winter at Jesup I'm expecting a big year out of Zabel. She is going to be the anchor of her group and so if she can make the most of her opportunities, she should shine in several different ways before the season comes to a close in the Spring of 2025.

The Iowa City- City High Little Hawks are going to be a force this Winter if you account for everyone they are bringing back from last season. One of those prospects returning, that put up some impressive numbers as a Freshman is [player_tooltip player_id='833956' first='Kaitlin' last='Loria'] and I expect her to have a big part in the Little Hawks success once again this upcoming season. As a Freshman, Loria averaged almost double-digits in Scoring, while also putting up big numbers in the Rebounding category on both ends of the floor. Her team is one that will return most of their starting Guard play, along with a few other prospects out of the Post so if they can put things together early on, they could make a big run at the end of the year moving into the State Playoffs. They will have all the pieces in place so all they need to do is to go out and execute at this point.

You might not know too much about [player_tooltip player_id='865264' first='Nataliya' last='Linder'] but that doesn't change the fact that she is a very interesting prospect out of this Class moving into the future in Iowa. Linder works hard, has size at 6'0-6'1, and she leaves it all out on the floor every contest. Something that anyone can respect from an outside point of view. This Winter at North Mahaska she will have a chance to help out her team to make an impressive State run before the end of the year. With her combination of size, smarts, balance, and coordination, I'm expecting her to be one of the statistical leaders in the state in a few different categories but like with everyone else in this article, it will all come down to how she is used by her coaching staff. If they can set her up for success, this is a name you will be hearing a lot about as we get into the 2024-2025 season.
