Northwood Team Camp: 2028 Marquee Maverick

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There was much anticipation prior to Northwood Team Camp regarding Milford's 2028 incoming freshman [player_tooltip player_id='919618' first='Ashlyn' last='Lutz'] and after seeing her compete for the first time in person, I can emphatically state she is the real deal. Ashlyn dropped an eye-popping 17 points in the first quarter, going 4 of 5 from beyond the arc. She hit 3s off the catch and dribble, deflected passes on defense, created steals, knocked down free throws, and scored contested floaters. Ashlyn created space to beat pressure with her dribble, blew by the help with a spin move, and scored a left layup. Her efficiency as a shooter outside and ability to burst by defenders using combo moves to score tough finishes make her a great prospect. Ashlyn finished the game with 31 points and has the potential to be All-Conference as a Freshman this season. She created space with her dribble and outworked opponents for offensive rebounds. Chloe scored contested shots off two in the paint and finished layups effectively with both hands. Ashlyn attacked hard downhill with her dribble and converted many contested floaters around the basket. Ashlyn used great box-out technique to rebound and scored a tough floater through hard contact. She verbally communicated with her teammates on offense and defense to help put them in a position to succeed. Reagan stole the ball on defense and split defenders off the dribble to earn free throws. Maci has the length of a forward, but handles the ball like a guard. She pushed the ball with both hands off a defensive rebound to score a full-speed contested layup. Maci demonstrated great awareness by back-cutting off the ball to score a left layup. She drove through the paint then kicked the ball out after drawing defenders and created steals. Maci used a quick behind-the-back snap crossover combination dribble to create space in the backcourt and send her defender falling to the floor. Diamond used a quick slide-step dribble move to drive by her defender and force a foul. She finished an and-one through a foul inside and scored another layup on her drive. Diamond demonstrated toughness after leaving the game with an injury and coming back to compete for her team. Yasmeen drove full court to score a soft floater, used a sweet high pickup move to finish a layup, and scored with a pound dribble drop step off two in the paint. One of her best plays came when she beat a defender with a quick spin dribble to score another layup.
