Summer Sweet 16 Shootout – Standouts

The event gave a preseason glimpse at some players and teams to be ready for this winter. She's one of the best players in the state regardless of class. Bryant is strong and physical and easily played through and off contact. She consistently got behind the defense for high percentage scoring opportunities. I love when players make me look way smarter than I am. She was at it again on Saturday. While her shooting was terrific, especially off the catch and shoot, Schlorf was pretty versatile in her scoring. Yes, she is that talented. An easy national target. First of all, she's a threat to score from anywhere on the floor. Let's skip the scoring thing though, we all know she can do that. I was really impressed with Savoury's ability to see the floor and deliver a smart and accurate pass. She was a tough and physical player that was willing to battle under the rim. Lape used her length on the glass, stayed active and moved without the ball. Her rebounding and movement translated to put back buckets and high percentage looks at the rim. There were times over the course of the day when it felt like she absolutely owned the paint. Stephens was quick and effective with her help defense in the paint. She walled up and made almost every shot difficult. Stephens was one of the best rebounders in the gym. She showed the ability to defend the length of the floor and even picked up a couple quick steals in the game against Grass Lake.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
