In this article we look at some forwards who played well last year. Most played supporting role, but will be called upon to produce on a higher level. These young players played well last season and some during the AAU season. They are all poised to have a very productive 2024- 2025 campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='721486' first='Amaya' last='Canady'] is a young forward who is destined to have a breakout year. She sat last year and waited her turn while her senior forwards help lead Bishop Kenney back to the State Finals. Canady is versatile player down low and has a very nice skillset. She can score, pass, and rebound effectively. She plays well with her back to the basket and has a very good footwork when she gets the ball on the blocks. Canady can play a power game and can play through contact. She also has soft handles and has a nice short range shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='400787' first='Liliana' last='Rosario'] averaged nearly 7 rebounds and 7 points per game. The now veteran forward enters her Junior season on the heels of a solid season and a very competitive off season. Rosario has soft hands and knows how to score in side with finesse and physicality. She gets good position for her guards to get her the ball, and knows how to score when she gets it. Now a Junior, Rosario is poised to take it to the next level. She hit the 20 point mark a few times which clearly shows what she can do. Rosario is poised for a big year and a few more 20 point outputs.

[player_tooltip player_id='514521' first='Brie' last='McCoy'] is another power forward who is poised to put it together on a more consistent basis. McCoy has battled nagging ailments, but she strung together some impressive performances in the travel season and was drawing double and triple teams to get the ball out of the power forward's hands. McCoy is deadly on the blocks and especially on the left side. She is money in the paint and is looking to make major deposits on the court this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='674890' first='Jade' last='Parks'] (cover)is another Forward who is ready for a “monster” season. Parks has power and agility and can run the floor like a guard, score in the paint, and pound the boards. All of these attributes make for a power forward who can put fear into the opponent. With the exit of some major parts from last year's team, Parks is poised to breakout with the performance and leadership, and put the team on her back.

[player_tooltip player_id='783627' first='Dominique' last='Boone'] is another forward who is primed for a breakout year. Boone has the length and the talent to wreak havoc on the defensive end and score the ball in a variety of ways on offense. Boone has the ability to be effective in the transition game as well. I watched her last year at a showcase just dominate on breaks and even handle the ball with coast to coast drives. Boone has the versatility and instincts of a small forward. If she taps into that skillset, a breakout year is inevitable.

[player_tooltip player_id='221646' first='Terrannya' last='Medlock'] is poised for a breakout season. Medlock has all of the tools to impact the game in multiple areas - scoring, rebounding, in transition and defensively. Medlock can shoot the three, and can shoot the midrange shot with great effectiveness. Her length can't be overlooked in the middle and she has very good shot blocking skills. She is good enough to average a double double and with her skillset that is the expectation.

[player_tooltip player_id='515064' first='Kathleen' last='Crawley'] is on target for a breakout Sophomore season. She exceeded expectations as a Freshman, and after watching her over the summer, it's apparent that she is projected to have a breakout season. Crowley impressed many with the three point shot last high season. She showed a lot of versatility and scored in the paint a lot this summer. With her versatility, the sky is the limit and a breakout season is eminent.

[player_tooltip player_id='514524' first='Ellieyana' last='Wallace'] averaged nearly 5 points per game a few rebounds per game. That was last year. Wallace is poised for a very productive year. That was evident all summer long as her game started taking shape. She is a workhorse player who can do multiple things well on the court. She will make an impact on the boards, in the scorebook, and in the paint. Wallace has a nice all around versatile game. That equates to a productive and breakout season.
