Amaya Canady Amaya Canady 6'0" | C Bishop Kenny | 2027 State FL made the most of her time on the floor, providing strong production down the stretch for Bishop Kenny. She rebounded well, cut hard to the basket, and showed great hands around the rim. Her effort plays — setting solid screens, finishing inside, and cleaning up on the glass — created extra opportunities for her team. Canady is a physical, reliable presence who brings value with energy and efficiency. She definitely was a difference maker and her presence helped seal the deal in a highly contested battle against Orange Park.

Amaya Canady Amaya Canady 6'0" | C Bishop Kenny | 2027 State FL makes her return to action this year with a ranking of 74. The center-power forward is fundamentally sound and can score on the inside with some good footwork. On the defensive end, Canady is strong and can anchor the middle of the defense with physicality and quickness for a “big”. The power-foward rebounds well and is capable of threatening a double – double every time she steps on the floor.

Amaya Canady Amaya Canady 6'0" | C Bishop Kenny | 2027 State FL was one of the top Freshman Power Forwards I saw over the summer. She had a standout game during the live period in Orlando where she showed the power, the versatility, and the scoring ability in the paint. Canady is also a special player who has a presence on the boards on both ends of the court. She plays with a lot of confidence and has that “it” factor at the Power Forward position.

Canady was a force in the paint and performed well on both ends of the court. Offensively, she showed that she could score in the painted area and often it was through contact. She has a nice touch around the goal and made buckets while playing through the physical play. Canady was also a standout on the defensive end. She got a few rejections against her opponent and did a good job of playing helpside defense. No shot went up uncontested. Canady also rebounded well. She maintained a strong court presence on the inside and was standout at her position.

Canady had a good showing at the Freshman Showcase. She had some nice moves to display including a tough euro during Game 1. She uses her size to post up, rebound, and change opposing players’ shots. As she develops her game more heads will turn.
