Regular season practice has started all across the Bluegrass state and scrimmages will start in the next month. I wanted to breakdown the top 5 college prospects and the top 5 teams in each region heading into the year. This should not be considered the top 5 overall players! These are the best college prospects in each region.

Region 15:

Top 5 Prospects:

[player_tooltip player_id='590302' first='Kylie' last='Kinner'], Paintsville - One of our top ranked Sophomores in the state, Kinner averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds per game last season and shot a respectable 31% from three last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='722791' first='Maci' last='Maynard'], Martin County - Maci is one of the top freshmen in the state and is a matchup problem for most teams in the region because of her size and her ability to finish over either shoulder when she's on the block.

[player_tooltip player_id='934138' first='Karlea' last='Stanley'], Johnson Central - Another top ranked freshman, Coach Hicks will rely on Karlea to score a lot this season after losing his top two scorers to graduation.

[player_tooltip player_id='780845' first='Sophie' last='Adkins'], Lawrence County - One of the best pure scorers in the area, Sophie averaged 20 points per game last season and could have more this year. She's a true three level scorer.

[player_tooltip player_id='688045' first='Leighan' last='Jackson'], Pikeville - Pikeville lost a ton to graduation but Leighan is ready for a heavier burden on both ends. Don't be surprised if she ends up being the regional player of the year and nominee for Miss Basketball.

Top 5 Prospects:

[player_tooltip player_id='555976' first='Kenleigh' last='Woods'], Ashland Blazer - Already committed to EKU, Woods is a big time scorer who has her sights set on leading her team to Rupp Arena in her Senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='743739' first='Jada' last='Ray'], Boyd County - Boyd has a lot to replace after last season but Jada is one of the most talented players in Kentucky's Sophomore class. She averaged 9 points per game last year and could double that this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='963031' first='Kelbie' last='Ford'], Rowan County - Ford is a talented scorer and going to be amongst the best freshmen in the region. She averaged double figures last year and should be relied on for 12-18 points per night this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='376798' first='Emma' last='Clinger'], Morgan County - Clinger is a talented forward who is capable of averaging a double-double when she gets more active as a rebounder. She's capable of multiple 20 and 10 games this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='724181' first='Gabby' last='Karle'], Ashland Blazer - With Ella Sellers in college, Gabby moves from third scoring option to second option and is likely a scholarship level player in college. She will need to adjust to a bigger role for the Kittens to win the 16th.
