In this piece we cover a handful of athletes that will be returning this Winter that would be considered their primary option for their Varsity team. These prospects could be considered the, "face of their franchise", if you will in other words.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

[player_tooltip player_id='502100' first='Macy' last='Comito'] is the definition of the Face Of Her Franchise and I think that is pretty obvious to anyone paying attention at home. It's no disrespect to anyone else, she will need help from her teammates if they want to make a big run during the Playoffs this Winter but most things that this squad does will be centered to get Comito an offensive look for herself or an opportunity for Comito to drive and create for those around her. Something that makes a lot of sense from an outside point-of-view. Comito can go. She is shifty, smooth moving, a smart competitor on both ends of the floor, and extremely skilled. She is one of the best PG that the state of Iowa has to offer at the high school level and that's no joke when you understand the talent that this state has to offer.

The stat-line that Chalice Pryor of Woodbine High School posted last Winter is nothing short of noteworthy. With her Woodbine Tigers program, Pryor averaged over 17.5 PPG on 42.5% shooting, including over 35% from behind the three point line, while also dishing out 5.5 APG. To give you any idea, this team went 16-8 on the season and averaged 58.5 PPG. Those two numbers corresponding together means that Pryor basically scored or assisted on half of their scoring throughout their entire season. There is no reason that this Winter shouldn't be similar to years past for Pryor. I'm expecting similar, if better numbers out of her at this point. She is a shifty guard that can get to whichever offensive level she wants to in the blink of an eye and her defending ability is solid, so all of that should lead to more success over this next season in my book.

[player_tooltip player_id='342167' first='Makenzie' last='Hughes'] is going to take the Varsity floor over this next six months in attempts to have her best season to date in the sport of Basketball. Hughes is a Simpson college commit and a gamer. She is someone that competes to the fullest every time she takes the court. This position is not a surprising one for Hughes by any means. She has been looked at as their unquestionable leader for years now, so this season is more of one for herself in a sense. She is a great team player and she is unselfish in her actions so it's nothing to do with that. I think it's more of just a situation of proving a lot to herself from a personal level. Something that I think will play to her favor in the long run. From a skill-set perspective, she checks off a lot of boxes as an efficient player. She knows how to help the cause without hurting you too much as a coach and that's all you can really ask for.

Lamoni High School will return this season after putting together a 15-6 overall record a year ago. Their leading prospect in PPG, that is going to return back to her starting role once again for her Senior season is SG, [player_tooltip player_id='1145150' first='Taylor' last='Henson']. Henson comes in at 5'5 at the guard position and she is a fast mover down the floor. Last season for this Demons team, Henson averaged just over 14 PPG on over 35% shooting in total. This Winter, she is going to be looked at to be her scoring self, while also contributing in other categories like rebounding and assisting. During her Junior season, Henson only had a total of 18 assists on the year so I'd love that number to ramp up a little bit as she does her thing.

It is somewhat hard for me to put [player_tooltip player_id='311367' first='Jayden' last='Kuper'] in this article only because of the fact that she has some very promising prospects around her on the Varsity floor but that could also be said for most prospects on this list. Kuper returns to Monticello this Winter as their enforcer in the middle from the past three years. Kuper has been a staple of this Panthers system since she was a Freshman and I'm sure finishing off her career with a bang would mean the world to her. She is college committed so she doesn't have that stress on her plate. That along with her team coming prepare for their upcoming season and I'm sure that she is excited about how things are moving along. Like I said, Kuper is the dominating force inside the middle that this group looks to in big moments, while also being someone that can screen and pop to the outside for a preferred matchup to come her way. The Panthers run some great action and are always ready to go so I'm excited to see how everything falls into place this Winter.

In this piece we cover a handful of athletes that will be returning this Winter that would be considered their primary option for their Varsity team. These prospects could be considered the, "face of their franchise", if you will in other words.
