FIRST TEAM ALL-SHOWCASE at Swartz Creek

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday, December 7th, Swartz Creek High School hosted its second annual Swartz Creek Showcase. The event held four games with Davison defeating Swartz Creek, Hartland defeating Clarkston, Grand Blanc defeating South Lyon East, and Haslett defeating Lake Fenton. With seconds remaining, she fought her way into position under the basket to secure an offensive rebound and then converted a contested reverse layup and-one at the buzzer to deliver the Eagles a 38-36 victory. Kennedy won the interior battle, scoring several putbacks, layups, and another and-one earlier in the game. She converted several layups in transition with both hands, buried to triples, converted four free throws, and created steals on defense. She had the Midas touch from beyond the arc, pouring in 6 triples in the second quarter! Kaitlyn added two more 3's in the second half to lead all scorers with 24 points and a jaw-dropping 8 triples. She used quick crossover combo dribbles and footwork to create space from defenders to drive, dish, and shoot. Parc drilled four triples including a filthy step back 3 in transition. She scored full speed layups exploding by defenders off the dribble, secured rebounds, and created steals on defense. She was effective at catching the ball in the high post, facing up, and attacking downhill. Rayven froze her defender with a shot fake and then drove by to score off two feet. She scored a baseline floater, knocked down a corner jumper, converted layups, stole the ball on defense, dished assists to teammates, and battled for offensive rebounds. Rayven gave her team an advantage inside earning a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Sam made excellent reads on offense, which led to back-cut layups, and threw an impressive lob entry pass to a cutter. She anticipated passes to create several steals and made unselfish extra passes to give teammates open looks. Sam buried a smooth pull-up mid-range jumper and added a confident wing 3.
