She Got Next, hosted by A1 Hoops Report, is one of the larger early season tournaments there is. A total of 48 teams were part of this year's version and two 5A schools with multiple courts were utilized in White Knoll and Lexington.

An often-repeated adage whenever someone has a big game is that she may not have needed to score all those points. In the case of Moody, she did. Greer's margin of victory on Friday over Midland Valley was only one – 33-32 – and Moody placed 22 of the Yellow Jackets' 33 points on the board. As those who have watched Moody over the years know, she brings it on both ends of the floor. Her speed and quickness particularly makes her dangerous when she attacks the basket. Her defense creates offense and she has no issues drawing contact to find her way to the free throw line.

Livingston's athletic plate is a busy one as she balances both basketball and volleyball. As 5A Irmo renewed pleasantries with its former 4A region rival in Richland Northeast, the Yellow Jackets earned a 45-34 victory to advance to the Pearl Bracket championship game on Saturday against Cross Schools. Livingston led the Irmo attack with a 17-point performance. She displays her ability to put points on the board from virtually anywhere on the court – including behind the 3-point line and in the paint. Livingston also understands that her scoring capabilities and ball handling skills will draw plenty of attention from opposing defenses and that will open things up for her teammates to make plays.

As 5A Lexington was one of the host schools for this year's rendition of She Got Next, it was only appropriate that the Wildcats look strong in their own building. Their matchup with 2A Eau Claire not only was the start of the season for coach Molly Goodrich's team – it was the beginning of Saville's senior season. Saville got that senior season started in tremendous fashion with a 15-point performance. Included in that 15 were three made 3-pointers. The Wildcats had four made triples for the game and three of those departed from Saville's hands. Transition play and defense are two other strong points to Saville's skillset. She is a two-sport athlete who also excels as a lacrosse standout.

Benson's Cross Schools team tipped things off on Friday morning at Lexington with a matchup against 3A Marlboro County. The Stingrays were slow out of the gate but eventually looked like their defending SCISA 1A champion selves as the team scored a 49-24 win. Benson tallied 12 points. She displayed the pinpoint accuracy she had from behind the perimeter as she drained a quartet of triples. She had all four successful 3-point attempts Cross Schools had for the game. Offensively, she plays the one effectively as she manages to organize an offense in a halfcourt set and she can cause deflections as a stout defender.

Harvey is one of two team captains on this year's rendition of Eastside. In a clash that pitted an Upstate 5A team against a Lowcountry 5A team, Harvey's Eagles pulled off the 36-35 victory over Stratford. Harvey scored 12 points and was every bit as effective a rebounder as she is a scorer. Even though most of what she gets accomplish is in the painted area as she stands at 5-foot-11, the Eastside junior also displayed that she will was willing to try long range jump shots. Her height combined with her wingspan makes her especially a problem on defense and she can play productive minutes as a small forward, power forward or as a more traditional center.
