This is the final list of players, by class that I saw in the final two to three weeks of the 2025 season. Many 2028s had were impact varsity players. The list below offers, in order, the top ten I saw in person. Be sure to review my end of season lists for the 2025, 2026 and 2027 classes.

#1

Williams gave everybody a scare when she landed wrong on a late second quarter drive. She did return for the Eagles' semi-final game. Until that point, she was just flat tough on both ends. She ran the team with maturity, freeing all-stater [player_tooltip player_id='351760' first='Asia' last='Lee'] to go to town in the scoring department in Olathe North's 6A state quarterfinal win over rival Olathe South. Using her solid frame and strong handles she worked over opposing guards trying to defender alone when she drove. Her stat line - 2 points, 4 turnovers, 2 steals - did not reflect her impact on both ends of the floor. She convinced me that she is one of the top 5 2028 point guards in the state regardless of classification.

#2

Carter is a solid framed, physical guard who played a key role in preventing Wichita East's guards from getting clean looks at or paths to the basket in the Panthers's 6A state tournament opening round hammering of the Blue Aces. She has great size for her height that pairs well with her speed and quick feet. Carter showed scoring chops too. I loved the sweet floater she scored with off a drive.

#3

Boss is a athletic, fast shooting guard with strong handles and good size. Finishing with 16 of the Indians's 31 points in their 3A state tournament quarterfinal loss to Colby she used her aggressiveness and quickness with the ball to attack defenders off the bounce. She got to the line, sinking 5/6 free throws and shot the three ball with range. She struggled against Colby's defense, especially while the Trojans quickly turned the game into a blow-out in the second half. She had a tendency to whirl right when challenged. And during that stretch she consistently faced help who read that. The Trojans destroyed Osage City on the glass (43-20 with [player_tooltip player_id='456516' first='Alisabeth' last='Barton'] collecting 17 by herself). Boss and her teammates have got to show serious improvement in that department next year.

#4

Proctor is a terrific post to watch in the years ahead. With solid size and physicality to go with length and athleticism she defended combo guards and forwards on the wing well in addition to her paint duties. Boyd's game is not flashy but she ran and used her size well on both ends.

#6

Deiter ran the floor extremely well and showed herself to be a dangerous three point shooter from anywhere once zoned in. She defended well within schemes and took care of the ball. Statistically she was inconsistent in her three 3A state tournament games but I anticipate that will improve with experience.

#7

Graham ran into foul trouble in Derby's 6A state tournament opening round whacking of Olathe East but she showed plenty on the defensive end. She chopped well closing out and otherwise showed quick footwork. She repeatedly passed up perimeter looks even though she set her feet well to shoot quickly. Eventually she buried a big three with just over three minutes remaining in the game. She, like the rest of her teammates, ran well. Watch for her to become more comfortable next year as a shooter.

#9

Stover took over at the point guard position in January from her sister Sam after the latter went down with a knee injury. While Halstead's team speed and quickness forced the team to turn to more experienced and taller players to help against the Dragon pressure in their 3A state tournament quarterfinal matchup Stover showed handles and attacked the basket with athleticism and extension. One to watch in the years ahead.

#10

What surprised me from Galliart was how she consistently got a step going baseline on anybody Hesston threw at her on the wing. I kept waiting for her to follow through with the play, get off a shot and take the contact or drop a time. It just did not happen. With confidence in and recognition of what she has done to create a play I expect her to find ways to get to the line like she did in the Longhorns 3A quarterfinal loss. A long way to go but the positives shown bode well for Holcomb in the years ahead.
