North Tartan Summer Jam 2025: JB's Saturday Notebook

This weekend I was in to evaluate at North Tartan Summer Jam 2025 in Minneapolis. Saturday was jam packed with action from the 12U level all the way to the 17U level, competing at multiple high school's around the city.   Throughout the day I took live-notes on prospects and really diving into what makes each of those players tick. In this article we go-over some of those notes.    Thanks for tuning in and enjoy! Someone that doesn't need much space or time to let it go from deep and every time she does, it looks like it has a chance of going in. Goodheart started out her weekend slow on Friday but she followed that up with two GREAT games on Saturday. Two games in which her team pulled out the victories. She was hitting deep threes, running and finishing transition, while playing some sound defense. All in all, respectable weekend from Goodheart and company in Minnesota."   [player_tooltip player_id='502101' first='Madden' last='Wilson'] - PG - [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] 17U   "If you want to look back at the last 24 months, [player_tooltip player_id='502101' first='Madden' last='Wilson'] of [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] 17U and Xavier High School (IA) has been one of biggest stock-risers that the State of Iowa has to offer and she has been KILLING it this weekend. Wilson is the definition of PG #1. Her ability to see what's coming, how she can pass, how she communicates, and how she runs her team's system has been note worthy and eye-catching. I have no doubt that Wilson will get onto a college floor and continue to be the unquestionable leader that she has been over the past 24 months. She does too many good things and that will translate."   [player_tooltip player_id='502092' first='Brynlie' last='Hadenfeldt'] - SF/CG - [program_tooltip program_id='712595' first='Kingdom' last='Hoops'] 17U   "There were a lot of eyes in attendance to see Hadenfeldt over the past two days and she has done a great job of playing her game, creating a lot of success individually and as a whole for her team. There were probably around 5-10 college coaches from all different levels at some point in to see this group compete recently and I don't blame them. There is good coaching, respectable team play, and a ton of heart out of this group, which you love to see from an outside point-of-view. Individually, B.H. held her own every time I've come across her this weekend. She is keeping it thorough next to the bucket on both ends and that's all you can ask really ask for when someone is producing for you."   [player_tooltip player_id='502091' first='Adalyn' last='Long'] - SG - Pure Prep 17U   "I will be pushing the recruitment of [player_tooltip player_id='502091' first='Adalyn' last='Long'] heavily over the next few months to college coaches across the Midwest that are looking for someone that is really good and could be plugged into a number of different types of systems. Long is going to be a STEAL for someone. Mark it down right now. In the minutes she did play over the past two days, she was asked to come in every game this weekend and basically hit three's with no warm up, while also playing lock-down defense on that side of the floor. Well, I'd say she accomplished these goals. If we are talking pure efficiency #'s at this event at the 17U level, I bet Long would stack in Top 10 out of everyone in attendance. Basically everything she took this weekend, she made and that stood out."   [player_tooltip player_id='996522' first='Taylor' last='Franck'] - PG - [program_tooltip program_id='712377' first='All' last='Iowa Attack'] 17U EYCL   "I'm not sure were the recruitment trail is for [player_tooltip player_id='996522' first='Taylor' last='Franck'] but she is a quick twitch PG, that is very touch to stat in front of and that is very good at creating for the others around her. It has been a challenge today for opponents to stick with Franck. She is nice off the dribble, she is coordinated, she has great vision with her head up down the floor, and she isn't afraid to mix it up physically with anyone either. Franck is a D2 level prospect in my book. If she keeps up the hard work and gets a chance, she could shine at the next level before you know it."   [player_tooltip player_id='598490' first='Ava' last='Putman'] - SG/PG - [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] 17U   "Pound-for-pound one of the strongest and most athletic players that I have seen on the year for her size. [player_tooltip player_id='598490' first='Ava' last='Putman'] has great hand-eye coordination, she plays with a chip on her shoulder, and she doesn't take no for an answer in anything she is doing. She can shoot it really well off the catch at the midrange or in three point land but she doesn't settle. She takes open looks and if not, she rotates the ball or creates. I know that Putman has received an offer or two this weekend already but that might not be all, there might be more to come before we reach the end of this weekend. You never know."
