OBU Team Camp: Notes Part 2

Strong driver that can get to the paint using her athleticism to get a bucket. Excellent transition guard that can pull up or change a gear to make things happen at the rim. Good handles that can the ball in the open floor allowing the point to be move of a versatile guard. Jakary played like a senior that needs to be looked at this weekend. Handles the ball under control against the press with eyes up the floor. Made several straight line passes to rim runners on the fastbreak that pushed the tempo. Showed a nice pull up jumper on the fastbreak. Solid decisions on the 2 on 1 fastbreaks that lead to a good scoring opportunity for her squad. Tough defender that usually draws the opposing team's best offensive threat at the guard position.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lady Panthers have two players that can play the point position allowing Paislee to work on offense off the ball. Aggressive downhill driver that does not mind a little contact on the way to the rim for the old fashion 3-point play. A mid-range game like a small forward but has the skill set of a big 2 guard. Good decision on the drives that led to many easy buckets for herself and teammates. Strong understanding of rotation on the press leading to a steal and points off turnovers. Great job of handling pressure as the Lady Tigers were press in several games this week. Good decisions with the ball as the game I watched the turnovers were very limited. A shooter that you must locate on defense as she is constantly moving without the ball and shoots at a high percentage. Ran some good 2-man action in the pick and roll sets, hitting a knock down jumper or the roller off the screen. Great handles in the open floor with poise and eyes up the floor beating the press with the pass for easy scoring opportunities. Strong baseline attack game when ran off the line making good decisions but usually finding the open shooter in opposite corner. As mentioned, a point guard that you had to play up on because of shooting ability and quickness she has on the first step. A player that works hard on the block using her feet to gain the advantage on the defender before the pass was made allowing a good angle for the entry pass. Nice drop step moves on the block that was very effective especially if the defense played behind her. Gets up and down the floor on both ends of the floor. On defense strong physical player that does not give up the post block very easily. Excellent job at walling up and blocking shots making very difficult for opposing teams to get paint points. One of those players that can score in three ways. One is with the outside shot with some range, second with a smooth pull up jumper and lastly with a downhill game. A good rebounding guard that gets offensive put backs like a small forward. Good movement off the ball scoring on the back cuts several times. Guard that has the handles to play a big point guard if needed. Aliyah games excelled with it is a 94 feet game allowing her to use her size, athleticism and skills to score. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
