With the travel season in the rear view mirror and the academic underway or close to it, high school ballers across the country are looking ahead to later this calendar year when their respective seasons tip off.

Prior to that, a number of showcase events still dot the hoops calendar. Da Future Showcase, hosted every year by Carolina Girls Hoops Report is one of those events.

The Mooresville/Lake Norman area once again played host to this year's festivities. As one could expect, the bulk of talent hailed from the Carolinas, but Georgia and Virginia were also represented. Without further ado, here is a look at who shined at getting high-percentage buckets.

One element of Evans' offseason has been the number of Division I offers she has received – prior to her embarking on her freshman campaign. She displayed in Mooresville exactly why she has landed those offers. An all-around playmaker, she is constantly working on aspects of her game – including her ball handling and shooting. Evans can throw defenses off balance with her ability to either attack the basket or knock down a 3-point shot. The two-sport athlete who also excels in soccer averaged 14 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.4 steals last season for 5A Division 1 Byrnes and one can expect the Rebels will be in the win column on plenty of occasions this upcoming season with Evans sporting Byrnes colors.

Following another solid season with Westside where the Rams were 4A championship participants, the offers began flowing for one of the Palmetto State's brightest young stars. Furman, UNC-Wilmington and George Mason all already have their eyes on Marshall. She is a young playmaker who will only improve as she gains more experience. Being on one of South Carolina's premier high school teams, she has handled the increased exposure exceptionally. Marshall is a versatile playmaker who primarily plays as a guard but can also give a team a solid presence at the three. She is entering her third season at the high school varsity level. Marshall averaged 10.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.5 steals this season and the successful offseason Westside had should once again have the Rams as a 4A state favorite.

Lacy recently concluded her middle school career with Francis Bradley MS and will soon embark on her freshman campaign with North Meck – which is also in the midst of its own transition from 4A to 7A. Lacy is listed at 6-foot-1 but can display her versatility with an ability to operate as either a guard or as a forward. Lacy looked like a Division I prospect at Saturday's camp – and she is receiving collegiate looks. North Carolina A&T, Winthrop, UNC-Wilmington and Charlotte all have Lacy on their respective radars – and how she plays on defense will surely earn her even more collegiate looks. With Lacy sporting Vikings red, white and blue, expect North Meck to be one of the teams to beat in the newly formed 7A realm.

In many ways, Alexander was one of the elder stateswoman of the field at Da Future Showcase being a 2026. What impressed about Alexander's performance was how she did well in midrange shooting drills. One may not expect that from a traditional big such as Alexander who thrives as a scorer, rebounder and shot blocker in the paint but she found success away from the rim. Alexander's transfer from Legion Collegiate to 4A Camden due to the Lancers becoming a SCHSL school (and losing playoff eligibility for the upcoming season) was one of the stories of the offseason. Her becoming a Bulldog will ensure coach Lewis Mungo's team remains among the class of the 4A field.

Elder stateswoman status also applied to Ramos-Diggs as she enters her senior season. Ramos-Diggs was one of two prospects on hand at Da Future Showcase that made the trek from a state whose name did not end in “Carolina.” That saying is true with top-tier prospects – have basketball, will travel. Ramos-Diggs showcased her quick and agile ball handling skills, letting those in Mooresville know she can be very shifty with the rock. A couple of months ago, Ramos-Diggs landed an offer from Albright College in Pennsylvania. She is listed at 5-foot-5. Ramos-Diggs concluded her final AAU season with DC-based PV Thunder and is poised to conclude her high school career with an exclamation point via a great season with James Madison.

Fields particularly shined in one-on-one drills when she consistently found was to score against an opposing defender. She may have the build of a frontcourt force but can be a backcourt beast with her ball-handling abilities. Fields also displays how versatile she can be as an attacker of the basket and an ability to play virtually anywhere on the floor. She stands at 5-foot-9. Her career has included a stint at Northside Christian and has since taken her to Winston Salem Christian. Fields is fresh off running with FBC Phoenix Future 16U in AAU, playing up in class in travel ball.

With the travel season in the rear view mirror and the academic underway or close to it, high school ballers across the country are looking ahead to later this calendar year when their respective seasons tip off.
