Coach Marv's Front Court Fire from the Loyola Elite Camp

The Loyola Women's Elite Camp was packed with many talented players all looking to showcase their talents in front of the Loyola Women's basketball coaching staff. As the AAU season has come and gone and the school year quickly approaches, players are utilizing Elite Camps to continue to grow their game and gain exposure as summer comes to a close. In today's game the vast majority of players tend to play on the perimeter, so it was very refreshing to see some skilled front court players. Here are the top front court players from the Loyola Elite Camp that demonstrated a high skill level and versatility around the rim.    Megan is a naturally commanding presence around the rim. Megan consistently demonstrated the ability to finish in the post over shoulder with either hand. Megan also has very good footwork and was able to execute counter moves when her initial move was stopped. Megan demonstrated a high basketball IQ by immediately getting deep position on weaker defenders while also facing up and attacking the rim against slower opponents. Megan showed that she was one of the top Post players at this camp.     Teagan has a great motor and consistently played both ends of the court. On the defensive end she blocked multiple shots with her good timing and help side position. Teagan demonstrated the ability to use her length to block and alter shots without fouling her opponent. On the offensive side of the ball Teagan consistently scored with her back to the basket, while also hitting the mid-range shot consistently. She has a good compliment of moves to choose from around the rim.       Jayden showcased very good hands on the block. She was comfortable catching every pass thrown her way, while still being able to hold her position on the block. Her drop step over her left shoulder was very hard to guard for most of her opponents throughout the day. With a great amount of natural strength, once she squared her shoulders to the rim, it was virtually impossible for defenders to stop her. Jayden great hands also allowed her to be one of the top rebounders at the camp. She consistently secured every rebound around the basket.       Laila continues to be a stock riser as the summer winds down. Her versality makes her unstoppable at times. Laila's smooth handle allows her to face up and attack slower posts players off the dribble. Her consistent mid range jump shot and length pose many issues for defenders. She has very good athleticism which allows her to rebound over the top of taller players. During the drill portion of the camp she showcased her ability to consistently knock the 3 ball as well.       Miley displayed why she's considered one of the most versatile players in her class. Miley has good footwork and strength around the rim allowing her to score with her back to the basket against taller defenders pretty regularly. As a wing Miley looks for her 3 and consistently knocks down deep 3's. Her game continues to evolve as she now confidently handles the ball under pressure when needed demonstrating her growth as a strong ball handler.
