Laila scored 10 points for St. Timothy’s, knocking down a couple of three-pointers along the way. She is a long, athletic wing with the ability to attack off the dribble and stretch the defense with her outside shot. She put both parts of her game on display against Baltimore Poly, making an impact as both a shooter and a slasher. Her combination of length, athleticism, and scoring versatility gives her several ways to impact the game offensively.

Laila opened her fall league season with 10 points and four rebounds as she gets ready for her final year of high school basketball. She showed off her finishing around the basket, embracing contact and converting through defenders for and-one opportunities. Laila also shot the ball well, giving her multiple ways to contribute offensively.

Laila set the tone early on offense with a catch and shoot 3-pointer on the opening possession and followed up with some tough defense that led to a steal. She was active on defense the entire game and kept the defense moving with her shooting in St. Timothy’s win over a tough Concordia Prep team.

Laila stretched the floor with her shooting. The three the midrange, she didn’t miss many shots and probably should have taken many more. She is long and athletic and moved her feet well defensively. Laila’s stock rose sharply in the latest rankings update and it was obvious why as we watched her play.

Laila shot lights out all day. She made 11 three pointers over two games and showed that she is one of the best shooters in the DMV. Her off the ball movement is elite, and she has a super quick release so she was able to get a bunch of good looks. She played great team defense as well, providing help and always being in the right place.

Tough wing player with length and defensive versatility. She’s quick and has been shooting the ball from deep with a lot of confidence. A good first step has been helping her get to the basket where she finished through contact.

Laila has the athletics to guard positions 1-4 as she is well disciplined on defense, in the open court her height and speed being problematic for her opponent. Offensively, she has the confidence to shoot outside as she is good for a deep corner three per half while also willing to bang down low for offensive and defensive rebounds as she never takes a play off.

Good showing from Laila in this one. She came over from Garrison Forest and will be a great addition to the team. Her length and versatility were on display as she helped out with defense and rebounding, while also knocking down some perimeter shots.

Laila is that player that every coach wants. She has infectious energy, who is willing to run court on every possession. Offensively, Laila knows to run the lane during transition. Defensively, she fills the paint and encourages contact.

A big guard with great size and length. High IQ player with very good athleticism. Laila was able to see over smaller defender to get buckets!
