IA was able to grab many talented players in their younger years which has translated to a couple of powerhouse teams and players that had monster summers. Here are a few of the highly sought after prospects.

Lakyn gets brought up every time there is a discussion about elite talent in Midwest basketball. She is looking to follow up a stellar freshman season in 24-25 where she was an All-EDC player, All-State player, and State Champion. She is part of a squad that will be favored once again in 25-26. The silky smooth shooter is one of the best I have seen in my 15 years of coaching and following high school hoops in ND. She has elite shooting and ball-handling and doesn't make many mistakes with the rock.

Kindred has a ton of returning talent and Siera might be their best player back. She is a high-quality prospect and someone I predict will have offers coming in after this season and into next summer. She can definitely hoop at the next level and has an advantage as a recruit by being such a tall and talented guard. She can play the 1-2 and has the frame where she can get down low and punish smaller defenders. She is an efficient player and someone who makes the right read with the ball.

The talented Shanley forward picked up a big-time offer this summer from D1 Colorado State. Add this offer to her list that includes SDSU, NDSU, UND and USD. She has all the attention of regional D1's and is now starting to gain traction with other D1s. She is a very intriguing prospect due to her great size and strength. She has improved her shooting percentage each year and will need to shoot it at a high clip in college to get on the court. She is a tough and hard-nosed competitor who brings the juice each night.

University of Jamestown has been on a tear offering North Dakota talent. Violet is the latest star from ND to get an offer to play high level D2 hoops at UJ. I think it is only a matter of time before more NSIC schools start throwing offers at her. She is a special talent with the ability to score and pass at an elite level. She continues to grow and gain strength each year and will be able to defend at that level. The 2nd-Team All-State player in 24-25 will likely make the 1st-Team in 25-26 and her remaining years of high school basketball.

Suri had a nice summer season and has complimented her AAU season with attending many regional Elite Camps. She has all of the tools in her toolbox to get a college scholarship. She can score from anywhere and has the frame to continue to get stronger and harder to defend. She is able to get downhill in a hurry and maintain offensive advantages. She has a very quick release and isn't afraid to shoot it from deep. Suri is Four Winds' best player and will go down in their history books as one of the best to play there.

In my opinion, it is only a matter of time until either UND or NDSU offer Kenley. She is a great local talent and a true gym rat. She reminds me of Jocelyn Schiller, another smaller guard who was under-recruited in high school and ended up being Freshman of the Year in the Summit League at UND. Kenley might not be the typical 5'11 guard that colleges look for in recruits, but she is strong enough to battle with bigger guards defensively. She plays with a chip on her shoulder and is a tremendous competitor.
