The Valley City Hi-Liners have an embarrassment of riches, as the saying goes. Kinslee is a terrific young player and will be critical to her team making it back to state in 2025-2026. She is a very steady and heady guard who makes excellent decisions with the rock. She is extremely coachable and plays with toughness and pride. She helped lead a strong 15U Black team to many wins this summer.

Shanley will have one of the most talented rosters in the state this upcoming season. Gust was able to earn her way into a starting role as a freshman last season and will be eager to expand that role as a sophomore. She did a great job of playing against quality competition this summer and expanding her game. She has a mindset to soak up coaching and the frame and athleticism to be a great high school player. She is once again going to be a key contributor for a Shanley squad excited to get back to the state tournament in 25-26.

The Fargo North Spartans will be in a little bit of a rebuilding mode this coming season. Look for Claire to be a big time participant in that process and someone who is going to have an outstanding high school career. She gained some valuable varsity experience last year as only an 8th grader. This will set herself up nicely for a chance to be a starting guard as a freshman. She played up one year on the 15U team this summer and was often her team's best player.

Johnson will have the unique experience of having two varsity seasons under her belt as she heads into her freshman year of high school. Each year she has shown some growth and this summer she had a lot of break out moments that showed how high of a ceiling she has as a prospect. She grew into her frame a bit which shows her commitment to getting stronger. She looks faster and quicker with the ball and is playing with a high level of confidence. She has a smooth looking shot that looks to be more accurate. I think Jada will be a 4-year starter and multiple All-EDC selection.

Willow is the younger sister of former Grafton standout Walker. She looks to be heading down a similar path of high school greatness. She is a solid 5'11 and seems to play with great enthusiasm on the court. She runs well and has the frame to get really strong, which will help with positioning around the basket. She is an excellent rebounder and her effort level allows her to keep multiple possessions alive for her squad. Willow is a name to keep an eye on as she goes into her high school career.

Horace High School has a terrific 2-sport athlete in [player_tooltip player_id='1246817' first='Maya' last='Klabo'], who is also a volleyball standout. She is another stellar guard in a long line of Hawk athletes in recent years. She is going to have great role models to look up to and Maya has the attitude to absorb all the leadership lessons available. She is a coachable kid who plays the game the right way. I like her patience with the ball on offense and her ability to play off of the ball. Maya is going to be an excellent high school basketball player.

One of the youngest stars in the state, Ella really did a nice job of shining this summer. She is an eager athlete who isn't afraid to put in the work required to be great. Beecher is still growing and it wouldn't surprise me if she ends up a 5'11 or 6' guard. She has good footwork, athleticism, and speed. She has a high ceiling as a young prospect and I am excited to follow her basketball journey.
