Sanford in Fargo just concluded its first season of AAU. There were many impressive players for a program that is just getting started. Here is part one of the standouts of Fargo Sanford.

The daughter of Mayville State's coach Ryan Carpenter had a terrific season. Jordyn played up one level on Sanford's top 17 team and fit right in with the older girls. She has a great feel for the game, something coach's kids usually have. Jordyn is a quality prospect and a high level guard who can play at the next level. Her shooting ability from behind the arc is impressive and I always appreciate how hard she competes.

The South Prairie standout had a terrific summer and recently picked up an offer from University of Jamestown. As mentioned in a previous article, I really like how Thad Sankey (head coach) runs his team and how he recruits. Maycie is someone who is athletic enough to play in their tough league and possesses a high basketball IQ for the point guard position.

Tylie is the 'pit-bull' of North Dakota girls' basketball. She is incredibly tough and showed out at multiple tournaments this summer. Tylie's best offer so far is from Minot State's Head Coach Ryan Clark, an excellent talent evaluator. He is doing a great job of getting high-level girls out to Minot. Tylie's Twitter account shows she is being followed by Concordia, Minnesota-Crookston, Mayville State, University of Mary, Minnesota State University-Moorhead, University of Nebraska at Kearney, in addition to local Division 1 schools University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University.

I love Katie's game and think that she is just scratching the surface of how good she can be. She has strong shoulders and a great base to compete with older and bigger girls. She led Valley City to the Class A title last season and was the Tournament MVP. She is geared up for a great encore as a Junior after balling out this summer.

Avery is a sleeper prospect in the state and someone who showed tremendous growth and improvement throughout her summer season. She has the size and length to be a key contributor for Horace next season. She has light feet, long arms, and quick lateral movement which equates to a high level defender. I think she can establish a role as a defensive anchor, rebounder, and someone good for 2-4 put-backs per game.

The 3 year starting guard for the Packers recently committed to play college basketball at JUCO powerhouse NDSCS. Coach Friskop loves Kiaya's effort level, her positive mindset, and her defensive intensity. Kiaya is the type of player every coach wants on their team. She shows up and does her best, competes as hard as anyone, listens well, and brings a great level of quickness to the court.

Benson County has all of the tools to run it back in 2025-2026 with Fautsch being a critical piece to the pie. She is a big, physical presence down low and is great at finding advantageous positioning. She is an excellent screener and has great hands that gobble up and pass that comes her way. She finishes through contact and does a good job of getting to the free-throw line. Lacie is in line for an excellent season as a sophomore this Winter.

The LLM standout is starting to gain some attention due to a terrific summer AAU season. Onika might be an under-recruited and perhaps under-appreciated talent. I am glad I could get eyes on her this summer and hope she starts to gain some momentum in her recruiting journey. She is a very strong and tough 5'8. She could be a match-up night-mare at the next level but utilizing her strength to bully smaller guards and her speed to get by bigger posts. She has a sweet shooting stroke and a quick release of the ball. Her soft touch around the rim is impressive.
