Oakland University Elite Camp brought over 70 prospects to the O'Rena for a combination of skill stations, small-sided games, and many full-court 5v5 games. The entire coaching staff was actively engaged with prospects throughout the stations and games, which added value to the experience for attendees. The Golden Grizzlies are under new command with Head Coach Keisha Newell leading the charge. This was a great opportunity for me to meet the new staff and for some of our best prospects to make a great first impression. Many players had notable moments at camp–here are six 2027 prospects who stood out on the court.

Alexis showed strength, athleticism, and mobility at Oakland Elite Camp that give her tremendous upside as a college prospect. She had solid footwork and step-through technique during the finishing drill, changing hands to score effectively at the rim. Alexis stepped outside to hit a corner three during 5v5 and muscled her way into position to secure, then score offensive rebound put-backs. Alexis scored a strong layup with her left hand off two feet and was a relentless rebounder throughout the day. She secured a D1 offer from Oakland University following camp.

Dy'Nasti had moments of dominance in the paint at Oakland Elite Camp. She moved well during 1v1 and used her length to block shot attempts. Dy'Nasti demonstrated toughness and determination, playing through pain during the 5v5 games. She pinned her defender with a strong seal, caught the lob entry pass, and finished off two feet. Dy'Nasti sealed a defender again and used an effective pivot move to create space for the finish. She caught an entry pass, turned with a swift spin move, and scored with her left hand. She was a front-court prospect who stood out and will be a formidable force for Muskegon this winter.

Ly'Nique was a point guard prospect who separated herself at Oakland Elite Camp. Ly'Nique pushed herself to the limit during the stationary ball-handling drills. Keeping her eyes up, she remained balanced, pounding the basketballs with great speed and control. Her abilities and effort paced the group. Ly'Nique continued to excel during games. She hustled to save a ball going out of bounds, buried multiple triples in the corner, cut backdoor to score a layup, and created steals on the defensive end. Ly'Nique made a strong statement about why she belongs with the top point guards in the 2027 class.

Naimah has explosive speed when she takes the ball to the basket--defenders struggled to stay in front of her at Oakland Elite Camp. One of Naimah's highlight reel plays happened when she stole the ball, turned on the jets, and used a high-pick up eurostep to score a full-speed reverse. She changed directions with a crossover to score another reverse and finished a strong and-one layup in top gear. Naimah finished multiple full-speed layups with both hands and was one of the best slashers at camp.

Rihanna started Oakland Elite Camp strong by standing out during the stations. Her shifty quickness, tight handles, confident layups using either hand, and quality footwork were on display during the finishing drill. Rihanna used a nasty hesi-crossover and hesi-high pick up move to get by defenders for layups during the games. She's a crafty finisher with excellent footwork and vision. Rihanna's balance and ability to make secondary moves by changing speeds in the paint are unique components to her game. She's a prospect I'm excited to watch this winter at Detroit Edison.

Sasha had a very solid day at Oakland Elite Camp. She demonstrated great speed off the dribble and converted layups under control with both hands at the rim. Sasha swished three-pointers with efficiency and balance off the catch. She changed directions suddenly with a crossover to get by a defender and earned a trip to the free-throw line after the foul. Sasha had a breakout sophomore season for Avondale and will be the prospect to watch on their squad this winter.
