[player_tooltip player_id='557354' first='Jenica' last='Lewis'] has narrowed it down to her Top Five schools recently. Those being Oregon, Norte Dame, TCU, North Carolina, and Iowa. This Fall Lewis will be taking visits to all of these schools physically except Oregon to figure out what feels like the best fit for herself. Lewis is one of three prospects out of the 2026 Class in Iowa ranked within the Top 15 that is still uncommitted at this point but we are getting closer to her final decision. Whoever scoops her up is getting a born winner with an elite career resume on the hardwood. That should translate to the next level. She is a top player in the Nation for a reason and she is ready to prove that wherever she might end up.

Last week [player_tooltip player_id='435773' first='Cora' last='Widel'] of Maquoketa High School committed to HC Justin Maas and the Upper Iowa Peacocks for her collegiate future. Widel is a lengthy Forward with some guard like ability on and off of the basketball. Offensively she is strong with her back to the basket near the hoop on either block. She can also attack from the midrange or three point land off the dribble, depending on where the defense is trying to play. Defensively this is someone that can get multiple stops in a row with her mixture of reach, athletic ability, coordination, and discipline. She can even wall up against bigger or stick with small guards on a switch if need be. Widel should be put some numbers over the rest of her career. She should be a mismatch nightmare for the Peacocks at times so as long as she can capitalize on that, it'll be smooth sailing.

The [program_tooltip program_id='712377' first='All' last='Iowa Attack'] program have multiple players who have either been offered or who have recently committed to South Dakota School Of Mines. The last being [player_tooltip player_id='1302233' first='Leah' last='Brauch'] of DCG High School. Brauch would be categorized as a longer, physical player, who is willing to sacrifice herself for the good of her team. She is willing to get scrappy in the middle and let other opponents know that she will fight for her space every chance she gets. I'm expecting Brauch to see the floor consistently this Winter for the Mustangs. They will have little chances in their lineup compared to years past but I still think they will return as a team to beat out of their Class. They will have a few college committed prospects starting for them so we will just have to see how far they can take things.

[player_tooltip player_id='881974' first='Emma' last='Zabel'] of East Buchanan came off of AAU season and received an offer almost right away to kick-off the Fall. Zabel, the 6'1 C/PF, recently took a visit to Grand View out of Des Moines. She eventually scooped an offer on this visit, adding another one to her pile. I do see this as someone that could thrive at the NAIA level with the correct guidance over the next few years. She has a solid base, literally and metaphorically, to build on. She plays off of two feet and good spacing, while being a prospect that can stuff a stat sheet in a short amount of time if you don't account for her early on. Zabel is only a 2027 so she will have a few more years to prove her worth to college recruiters out there paying attention. If she continues to do well during the Winter and on the road during AAU season, she should continue to get looks until she commits.

Storm Lake producer [player_tooltip player_id='560332' first='Avery' last='DeHaan'] grabbed a Juco offer out of her area from Coach Flowers & Southeastern CC this past weekend. This is DeHaan's second or third offer the past few weeks as we move into the school year. I don't have a feel for where DeHaan might commit too but she is someone with natural ability, better than average athleticism, and a smart head on her shoulders. She is one of those players that is willing to do whatever is asked of her. For the past three season at the varsity level, she has been a name we consistently hear about and I don't expect that to change this upcoming Winter either.
