EXPO: All Camp 1st and 2nd Team Standouts

Saturday, September 13th Prep Girls Hoops Arizona had the annual EXPO Showcase which was hosted at Chaparral HS in Scottsdale, AZ. We had right around 32 players from the 2026-2029 classes who were competing in a few games of 3 on 3 followed by the regular 5 on 5 setting.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">My 1st and 2nd Team Standouts</h2>   1st Team   [player_tooltip player_id='591482' first='Destinee' last='Benway']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/destinee-benway/"></a> Hamilton   A bigger combo guard plays on the ball often but she can score. She hits the three off the catch or pull-up with high confidence. She is super quick on the break and will hesitate to the basket or burst plus she has advanced court vision to make plays for her teammates.   [player_tooltip player_id='852321' first='Jaiyana' last='Bogan-Jacobs']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/jaiyana-bogan-jacobs/"></a> Campo Verde   My personal MVP of the camp was Jaiyana. She is a phenomenal passer who can score from every level. She will score with tough takes to the basket and hit the three off the pull or catch with a super quick release. She also may have been the best rebounder and on-ball defender at the camp with a relentless motor and next level length.   [player_tooltip player_id='767644' first='Grace' last='Cloud']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/grace-cloud/"></a> Xavier College Prep (Pictured)   A bigger guard was arguably the top shooter off the catch from the three with a lightning quick release. She can take contact well getting downhill and pull-up from mid-range off the dribble but is best off the catch. She has quicker hands on defense and is a tough rebounder in the paint.   [player_tooltip player_id='821243' first='Kaelin' last='Holloway']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/kaelin-holloway/"></a><a></a> Higley   Another of the top shooters at the camp is a good sized wing who gets the ball off her hands in a blink of an eye. She will hit deep ones off the pull or even step back off of her defender. She can get downhill with a sneaky burst and go coast to coast. She is a good rebounder and boxes out her opponent like you should.   [player_tooltip player_id='640352' first='Makenna' last='Johnson']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/mckenna-johnson-3/"></a><a></a> Liberty   A very tall wing forward with a very good handle for position. She has a stronger frame and rebounds well in and out of her area. She will score with ball fakes and go up, often changes speeds and she was maybe the best mid-range shooter. She is also a next level passer with a high feel for the game.   [player_tooltip player_id='758879' first='Bella' last='Overlock']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/bella-overlock/"></a><a></a> Dream City Christian   Another tall wing forward is a downhill queen. She uses a nice spin move using her left or right hand and a quicker burst. She can hit the three off the catch and also create separation to get her shot off. Once she gets into the painted area she can absorb the contact and is a good passer up the court.   [player_tooltip player_id='1255311' first='Azaleah' last='Robinson']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/azaleah-robinson/"></a><a></a> Millennium   The tall incoming freshman is a strong two-handed rebounder and the top shot blocker at the entire camp. She attacks the ball at its highest point and corrals the board or blocks the shot. She can face-up from elbow and in and extend to the three but then use counter moves in the post, fall away in the paint and will play with her back to the basket. She is also a good passer out of the double team.   2nd Team   [player_tooltip player_id='1245900' first='Bella' last='Aguirre']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/bella-aguiree/"></a><a></a> Desert Mountain   A pure point guard who is very quick to get downhill to the basket with a tighter handle. She had arguably the best timing on her passes with some needle threaders. She will hit the three with a super quick shooting release and makes the game very easy for her teammates.   [player_tooltip player_id='1121674' first='Kaitlyn' last='Christensen']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/kaitlyn-christensen-2/"></a><a></a> Mountain View Mesa   A bigger small forward can score it multiple ways. She will get downhill and take contact well with her frame and size. She will score with post footwork plus uses a hook shot, score in transition for layups and shoots the three. She will rebound well in her area and will be leaned on this season.   [player_tooltip player_id='847454' first='Kauai' last='Combs']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/kauai-combs/"></a><a></a> Millennium   A good sized scoring guard can also play on the ball. She is a very good passer off of the pick and roll game and will score. She uses the jab step into a mid-range pull-up and can hit the three off the catch. She is a good defender who is very aggressive and plays the right way on both sides of the court.   [player_tooltip player_id='780444' first='MacKenzie' last='Lewis']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/mackenzie-lewis-2/"></a><a></a> Campo Verde   A bigger scoring point guard with a quicker handle to get into the paint. She is deceptively quick to the basket and will use the floater game to her advantage. She will catch and shoot from the three point line and smartly plays off of two-feet. She is a very good passer and look for her to have a big year.   [player_tooltip player_id='1242888' first='Brianna' last='Potter']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/brianna-potter-2/"></a><a></a> Dream City Christian   A scoring point guard with a tighter handle who can create separation and hit the three with a quick release and deep range. She has one of those shooting strokes that look good every attempt. She will throw up the court passes and has the ability of going coast to coast after a hesitation move.   [player_tooltip player_id='1255433' first='Emilia' last='Quiros']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/emilia-quiros/"></a><a></a> Perry   A tall point guard with skill and feel. She is good off of the pick and roll game and will drive and kick it to a shooter. She has a quick handle and usually makes the correct read. She does a little bit of everything with rebounding, good hands to catch tough passes and shoots the three with good ball rotation.   [player_tooltip player_id='1262532' first='Emma' last='Salstrand']<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/emma-salstrand/"></a><a></a> Notre Dame Prep   One of the tallest scoring guards in the freshmen class is a dead-eye shooter off the catch from the three point line. She has such an easy stroke that comes off of her hands quickly. She is super confident and consistent with her shot but she will ball fake and dribble drive to the paint to score.
