Florida Sophomore ID Camp: Team 4 Evaluation

At the PGH Sophomore ID Camp, we had over 70 players who all came ready to compete. Many stopped me to say they were determined to earn their rankings and consistently asked for tips on how to improve their game. The gym was packed with talent, and the environment was electric. Players battled in 3v3 and then 5v5, and the atmosphere felt like a championship game as everyone left it all on the floor.    [player_tooltip player_id='899022' first='Grace' last='Jarrett'] was very efficient in spacing the floor, always putting herself in position to shoot. As a shooter, she understood the importance of constantly moving without the ball, getting out quickly in transition, and running wide to create spacing. Every time she caught the ball, she was already in a shooting stance and able to get her shot off quickly against closeouts. If the defense rotated in time, she swung the ball just as fast. Opponents had to rotate to her quickly out of respect for her shooting ability.     Makeena Marie Enfinger has a true shooter's touch. She had one of the best follow-throughs in the gym, and her ability to hold that follow-through allowed her to make tough shots over closing defenders—and even her misses were close. Any coach would have no problem with her taking shots when she's open. Makeena also showed she could put the ball on the floor, draw defenders, and make smart passes. She showcased her ability to use one or two dribbles into a pull-up three or a side-step three. Makeena has the potential to emerge as one of the top shooters in her class this season and is definitely a player to watch closely.     [player_tooltip player_id='400815' first='Kylie' last='Green'] was one of the best ball handlers and shot creators in the building. Her confidence in both her dribbling and shooting stood out, and the showcase's fast-paced style, filled with pick-and-rolls and transition offense, fit her game perfectly. She excelled and stood out as one of the most experienced and poised players in the gym, putting together multiple highlight plays and making a strong case as one of the top players in her class.     [player_tooltip player_id='1117349' first='Micah' last='Bussey'] is a combo guard with a scorer's mentality, always finding ways to create scoring opportunities. Off the ball, she was constantly moving and staying in a shooter's stance, ready to score whether at the rim or behind the arc—where she shot at a high percentage. Around the basket, she showcased the ability to finish with either hand and even used her off-hand to throw off defenders' timing. Micah is a creative player who can impact the game in multiple ways.     [player_tooltip player_id='1234257' first='Sofia' last='Laria'] brings high energy and great vibes to the court. She's a competitor who clearly has fun playing the game. Sofia's ability to track rebounds—whether grabbing them at the highest point or chasing them down—created many extra opportunities for her teams. In 3v3, she was so active that she immediately stood out. She can get downhill and finish at the rim, while also stretching the floor with a smooth shooting stroke. Her length and IQ caused constant problems for opponents. Beyond her skills, Sofia stood out as a true team player, motivating and encouraging her teammates every possession.     [player_tooltip player_id='1235884' first='Gabriella' last='O'Reilly'] was constantly involved in every play. Defensively, she played fearless, guarding her opponents aggressively while staying active both on and off the ball, and she communicated well with her teammates through screens and help defense. Gabriella has a strong understanding of the game, and as she continues to improve her ball handling and confidence in her shooting, she will have an impact on winning for any team she plays on.     [player_tooltip player_id='1308965' first='Lauren' last='Niebla'] gives her all on every possession and showcases good footwork and balance. She impressed with her ability to put the ball on the floor, string together a few combo moves, and get into her jump shot, which had nice form and went down at a solid rate. As she continues to improve her mechanics, Lauren will become a consistent threat shooting off the catch from both the midrange and beyond the arc, making her a true zone buster for her teams. She also finished well around the rim, including a smooth reverse layup that stood out as one of her best moments.     [player_tooltip player_id='1311082' first='Mila' last='Miller'] has the collegiate-level height and size to play at the next level, along with a smooth shooting form. What really stood out, however, was her understanding of the game—she constantly moved without the ball, positioning herself in the right spots as her teammates attacked, and consistently knocked down shots at a high percentage. Mila brings versatility, a high basketball IQ, and a winning attitude that would make her an asset in any system.     [player_tooltip player_id='219786' first='Kennedy' last='Deal'] has the perfect blend of athleticism, strength, and skill. A true big guard, she handles the ball well, has a smooth shooting form, and is nearly unstoppable when attacking the rim. Once she gets downhill, if there's no help defense, the only option is to foul her—and even then, she's strong enough to finish through contact. Several times, parents stopped to ask where she plays, as she impressed newcomers, while those who already knew she was the real Deal simply enjoyed the show.
