Today, I attended the Expo up in Appleton, Wisconsin. I'll begin going through a handful of teams that I watched play today and highlighting the players I observed throughout the morning and early afternoon. I thought it was a productive day, seeing some players from around the state, and I found it to be my most enjoyable Expo since I first attended the event in 2021. Tonight, we'll look at Team One and discuss the players from that unit.

Lytle has a shooting form that helps her stand out on the offensive end. She lets her shots go almost sideways, but she is a player who can create enough space to get it up. She is also a player who can handle the ball and make things happen with it in her hands. Lytle has lead guard instincts and can create for others when given the opportunity to orchestrate an offense. I also liked how well she stays under control on the offensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='878990' first='Allie' last='VanVonderen']

The Denmark guard is a player who did most of her work away from the ball when I watched her play this afternoon. However, her ability to space the floor and knock down shots allowed her to be an asset to her teammates on the floor, and she knocked down a few shots when I watched her. She is also a player who can get downhill and make plays in the paint when allowed to attack off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='1291874' first='Payton' last='Dols']

I thought Dols was a player who had her moments on both ends of the floor. She may not be flashy, but she did show attributes of her game that can help her team win games. Dols was a physical player on both ends of the floor and showed she can handle that aspect of the game, which is important. I also loved the effort she brought to the floor, even though she may not have been a player who had the ball in her hands much when I watched her.

[player_tooltip player_id='874389' first='Kailynn' last='Thompson']

Thompson is a player I'm intrigued by, and I want to know what her endgame looks like. She's a physical forward with all the physical tools to be a player who can control the area around the basket on both ends of the floor. However, she does have the tools to exploit mismatches by handling the ball and knocking down a perimeter jumper from time to time. She has the talent to play at the next level, but depending on where she ends up, what coaches see her as will vary. The talent is there, and her game is malleable. However, Thompson was excellent today and showed plenty for Bay Port to be excited about as we move into the winter.
