Today, I attended the Expo up in Appleton, Wisconsin. I'll begin going through a handful of teams that I watched play today and highlighting the players I observed throughout the morning and early afternoon. I thought it was a productive day, seeing some players from around the state, and I found it to be my most enjoyable Expo since I first attended the event in 2021. Today, we'll look at Team Three and discuss the players from that unit.

McKenna Freier

Frier is a player who caught my attention, and I hadn't heard of her before the event in Appleton. She is a player who is willing to make extra-effort plays on both ends of the floor. Another aspect of her game that made her work well in the 5v5 portion was that she didn't need the ball to make plays on the offensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='877570' first='Alexis' last='Wierzba']

I liked what Wierzba did around the basket when she played in the 5v5 portion of the events. I liked her physicality around the basket. I also thought she brought some defensive versatility to the floor in her minutes. She moved well laterally on the perimeter on the defensive end. I also liked her ability to catch passes in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='900204' first='Sarah' last='Daly']

Daly has solid footwork around the basket and can score in the paint. I thought she used her length to make plays on the ball and make plays on both ends of the floor. I thought she worked hard on the offensive end of the floor, but didn't always get rewarded with the ball in the paint. However, she will get the ball in a more structured setting.

[player_tooltip player_id='874383' first='Brianna' last='Breese']

The Notre Dame forward is a versatile frontcourt prospect who can score inside and out. She also has teh physicality and skill to work with her back to the basket and score around the basket. She has the talent to be among the more productive frontcourt players in the state this coming winter. The talent is all there.

[player_tooltip player_id='992503' first='Laylaa' last='Peterson']

The Verona transfer is an athletic guard who can push the ball up the floor in transition. She is also a physical undersized guard who can attack the basket and finish through contact. Peterson is also a talented defender who can force mistakes out of opposing guards on the perimeter. She is a player who could have an impact on the Wildcats' season.
