In the Bishop McNamara Scrimmage Mixer there where so really good players that had some nice performances. There were players that impressed us and showed some incredible talent and skill. As their teams prepared to start the season some players showed us what they were doing over the summer. There were really good player and then there were these players "The Best of the Best".

Ivanna put on an aerial acrobatics show, flying through and over defenders as she sliced through the lane. Her game is steadily improving as she was once relied on tough angle finishes, she is now getting to the rim to the rim with purpose. She not just capable of making threes but is now a legitimate three point threat who forces defenders to stretch farther away from the lane than they would like to.

She had one play where she executed a crossover that froze four defenders, followed by an explosive drive through the lane for a tomahawk style layup. She is a generational talent with a one of one skillset.

Overall, Qandace was the most effective player in the entire gym. She dropped 20 points on Bullis and followed it up with a 28 point performance against Sidwell Friends, and she did this all in two quarter games. Her free throw efficiency was off the charts as she shot a ridiculous 96% from the line. She made everything look effortless as if she never broke a sweat.

If she is cut loose she could potentially have some 50 point games this season. She is a scoring threat from anywhere on the court and with her versatility and poise makes her impossible for any one player to stop.

Jayla is the closest to perfection as you can get in high level basketball. She has the potential to be one of the greatest to ever come out of the DMV, which is not an exaggeration. To that point, I have yet to find any true weakness in her game.

What makes her more special is her demeanor. She is a humble, unselfish player that plays team basketball but still finds ways to dominate every matchup. Right now she is playing high school basketball at a major division on level.

Taylor has one of the quickest releases that I've ever seen. She transitions from her dribble into her shot pocket in one fluid, effortless motion letting the ball fly before the defense can react. She can create her own shot but just giving her any space to shoot is a mistake as she is incredibly accurate from beyond the arc.

She makes good plays so attempting to deny her the ball may be the best option or bringing a double team to try and get the ball out of her hands is also an option. The issue is that Bullis has so many offensive weapons you it's hard to make the decision to leave a player to double her as you leave another dangerous player open.

If you're looking for a pure point guard, look no further than Nyair. She is the prototype that other point guards should try to emulate. Her awareness is elite as she knows where every player on the floor is at all times and has the ability to set up players and create opportunities for her teammates.

She constantly puts pressure on defenses with her ability to penetrate and she can pass out of a drive at any point she chooses. She is the type of player that everyone wants to play with because she makes everyone better.
