Q: What is a Stock Riser?

A: A player who moves up in the rankings just like a stock rises in the financial markets.

Q: How does a player become a Stock Riser?

A: In one of two ways: 1. Show improvement that persuades scouts that the athlete's college potential is higher than previously thought, or 2. Benefit from a correction that improves the player's ranking because scouts felt they had previously misranked the athlete.

THE TOP 5

+56 [player_tooltip player_id='1256275' first='Isabelle' last='Van Nett'] – guard, Two Rivers

Van Nett (banner photo above) is the most improved player we've seen this winter. In previous seasons she seemed comfortable in a supporting role. This year she has stepped front and center, leading Two Rivers and consistently making game-changing plays. She's averaging around 13 points per game, but the growth in other areas stands out even more with nearly 6 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 2.3 assists per contest. Isabelle is playing fearlessly with enhanced confidence, defensive presence and nonstop energy. The all-around impact is undeniable. She climbs to #71 and rising.

+48 [player_tooltip player_id='764216' first='Maryn' last='Prenevost'] – guard, Orono

With [player_tooltip player_id='471360' first='Mya' last='Moore'] (Creighton) commanding most of the attention at Orono, others must seize their opportunities. Maryn did exactly that with a tremendous start to the season, earning a larger role. Always a gifted shooter, she's now hitting the big shots in the big moments. Her overall game has expanded as she's become more confident, more assertive, more versatile. Prenevost is proving she can impact winning beyond her perimeter stroke. She moves up to #89 and continues strengthening her case for the next-level.

+27 [player_tooltip player_id='1257459' first='Amira' last='Williams'] – forward, Faribault
Faribault's improvement in the Big 9 is notable and Williams is a major reason why they have moved into the top five teams in the Southern Minnesota conference. Averaging 21 points and 9 rebounds per game, the powerful forward brings strength, toughness and an attacking mentality. She finishes through contact and still relies on her trusty spin move, but her offensive repertoire continues to expand. Williams plays with energy and physicality on both ends, embracing her role as the Falcons' go-to option. The production and growth earn her a rise to #108.

+23 [player_tooltip player_id='764201' first='Jaelyn' last='Bursey-Dixon'] – guard, Spring Lake Park

Bursey-Dixon's 23-spot jump reflects a correction. Once the season began, it became clear we underestimated her impact. Jaelyn has been outstanding, leading Spring Lake Park with nearly 16 points per game while ranking near the top of the roster in rebounds, steals and blocked shots. She blends perimeter skill with interior toughness, able to attack off the bounce, post up, or facilitate. Her versatility drives winning. She rises to #127 with more growth ahead.

+13 [player_tooltip player_id='764207' first='Kinnley' last='Colligan'] – guard, Rogers

Colligan has evolved from key contributor to Rogers' alpha competitor. Her confidence, aggression and maturity have all taken a leap. Averaging 17 points and 7 rebounds per game with 72 steals, Kinnley affects games everywhere. She's more assertive offensively and more disruptive defensively, bringing steady leadership each night. The growth in her overall game is obvious. Colligan climbs to #49.

+12 [player_tooltip player_id='657022' first='Ava' last='Brynteson'] – guard, Prior Lake

Under veteran coach Ellen Thompson, Prior Lake has been a pleasant surprise and Brynteson's emergence is central to that success. The 5'11 guard plays with pace, power and purpose. Physical and skilled, Ava defends at a high level and competes relentlessly. Her focus and work ethic stand out every time she takes the floor. Ava impacts games with toughness and consistency, embodying the identity of this plucky Lakers squad. She moves up to #56.

+11 [player_tooltip player_id='1183731' first='Kylie' last='Storkamp'] – guard, Foley

Storkamp built momentum in AAU play and has carried it into a strong winter for 21-5 Foley. Averaging nearly 15 points per game, she combines speed, quickness and control. Kylie is relentless without the ball, forcing turnovers and competing with high energy. Intelligent and composed, she understands how to impact winning. Her consistent production and motor earn her a move to #115.

+10 [player_tooltip player_id='1236881' first='Samantha' last='Konz'] – guard, Morris Area

Konz's toughness at the PGH Expo – playing through a painful ankle injury – said plenty about her competitiveness. Since then, her game has continued to rise. She's averaging nearly 13 points, over 7 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.1 assists per game – all improvements from last season. Samantha brings energy, physicality and steady growth across the board. She climbs to #138.

+9 [player_tooltip player_id='764198' first='Hallie' last='Hunter'] – forward, Mayer Lutheran

Whether her future is volleyball or basketball remains to be seen, but Hunter's impact on the hardwood is undeniable. The 6'1 forward averages nearly 12 points and leads her team in rebounds while piling up steals and blocks. Long and fluid, she defends with disruptive intensity and protects the rim with ease. Hallie's defensive presence sets her apart. She now sits inside the top 100.

+7 [player_tooltip player_id='866106' first='Lola' last='Christianson'] – guard, Goodhue

With the graduation of longtime point guard Liz Gadient, Christianson stepped confidently into the lead role. She's delivering exactly what Goodhue needed – 21 points per game, strong distribution, and shot-making from all levels. Lola plays with pace, skill and relentless fire. Her competitiveness fuels the Wildcats and makes her a joy to watch. She rises to #70.
