During the State Tournament I like to take several "live" notes about the prospects that are competing out on the floor.

Below are some of those notes in short hand.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

[player_tooltip player_id='502100' first='Macy' last='Comito'] - 2026 - PG - Carlisle High School

"Comito was the real deal tonight against CCA. The Clippers tried to force her into her weak hand and it just didn't work. Comito got to whatever spot she wanted, whenever she wanted. As the game dwindled down into the 4th, things opened up even more for her as she was getting to the hoop at Will off of the bounce. Carlisle ended up stifling the Clippers by 14 points in the end and none of the would have been possible without Comito's play-making ability on and off of the basketball."

[player_tooltip player_id='777232' first='Melina' last='Snoozy'] - 2027 - SG/CG - Bishop Heelan High School

"Everyone knew who [player_tooltip player_id='777232' first='Melina' last='Snoozy'] was prior to this week being the #1 ranked 2027 in Iowa and all but she put on the performance of the tournament so far this afternoon. She finished things with a game-high 39 points on 26 shot attempts along with 12 rebounds. It's also important to mention that she did this WITHOUT going to the free throw line for a single attempt and it wasn't like she wasn't trying. Offensively, she was hitting shots from deep over and over again but if the defense happened to over-played her, she would put it on the ground and get to a more favorable position for a better look. All in all, a GREAT showing for the future P4 commit."

[player_tooltip player_id='1305404' first='Ella' last='Otten'] - 2028 - PG/SG - Bishop Heelan High School

"BH is going to have a solid chance at bringing home the 4A State Title this week. Someone that has been fantastic this season after transferring in is [player_tooltip player_id='1305404' first='Ella' last='Otten'] at the PG/SG spot. Otten showed what she was all about today. She made open shot attempts off the catch, she demonstrated that she can put the rock on the floor and lead her offense as the main facilitator, and she seemingly always made the correct play when tough decisions were put in front of her. When you pair this along with Snoozy and Miller at the 4A level, it's a tough ask for opponents to slow them down but we will just have to see how the rest of their week goes looking ahead."

[player_tooltip player_id='880925' first='Sophia' last='Bouchard'] - 2028 - SG/PG - North Polk High School

"An impressive day out of [player_tooltip player_id='880925' first='Sophia' last='Bouchard'] of North Polk High School. Bouchard plays a fundamental game-style. She isn't going to kill you with fancy moves. Instead, it's simple, fundamental, and it usually seem to produce results in one way or another. North Polk didn't have a ton of fire power in this battle but Bouchard was someone that stepped up to hit several shots while defending at steady rate. This is someone that this team can definitely build their future on moving into the 2026-2027 high school season. She does all of this with some natural instincts. Now we just have to see how far she is going to be able to take things along her individual journey."

[player_tooltip player_id='1211364' first='Ella' last='Smith'] - 2026 - PF/C - Carlisle High School

"When you look at this Carlisle victory against CCA, everyone is going to talk about [player_tooltip player_id='502100' first='Macy' last='Comito'] but the prospect who stood out to myself was [player_tooltip player_id='1211364' first='Ella' last='Smith'] in the middle. Smith is coordinated enough, with good size, that she is someone that opposing team's MUST account for this week. If not, she is going to make them pay. In this one Smith controlled the middle of the lane with authority. Whenever anyone would drive in past their defender, Smith was there patiently waiting to make a play on the ball. Not to mention, she crashed the boards hard and is relentless in her pursuit of the basketball. That's a deadly combination. If Carlisle wants to keep their Playoff hopes alive against BH later this week they are going to need more of this outta Smith. Something that is definitely do-able at this point in the week."

[player_tooltip player_id='880909' first='Kami' last='Clark'] - 2028 - SG/CG - Carlisle High School

"Alongside Comito and Smith is [player_tooltip player_id='880909' first='Kami' last='Clark'] at the 2/3 position. Clark has great size for her age as a 2028. She stands right around 5'10 and she moves effortlessly down the floor. We saw Clark step up in this game in several different moments so far. She has taken her defender off the bounce for a nice little 12FT midrange pull up, she has gotten to the hoop with her back to the basket when she has a size mismatch on the block, and she been able to use her natural reach to her advantage whenever she get into the teeth of the defense. Clark also had the task of guarding [player_tooltip player_id='509225' first='Averie' last='Lower'] tonight and she was nails. She did a good job of locking down her opponent for most of the contest and that played a HUGE factor in their success in the end."

[player_tooltip player_id='524262' first='Sydney' last='Doeschot'] - 2026 - PG - Hinton High School

"Whenever you see Doeschot's compete, you know you are watching a game controller and game leader out on the hardwood when the ball is in her possession. We have seen that for year's now wherever she is competing and that was no different in her team's first contest of this State Tournament. It was a close one but in the end, Hinton pulled it out by 2 and that's because of Doeschot's. There might have been others who helped produce along side of her but don't get it mixed up. Without the leadership, direction, and control that Doeschot's had on the game, the result might have fallen the other way but lucky SD made it happen as they group survived to advance into the Semi's."

[player_tooltip player_id='833966' first='Lizzy' last='Frazell'] - 2026 - CG - Waverly Shell Rock High School

"We can definitely see why Frazell is a D1 committed prospect. She is 6'0/6'1, she possesses a beautiful shooting stroke from all ranges, she can switch onto multiple positions as a defender with her mixture of reach and athletic ability, and she seems to be a really good teammate to everyone else around her while also attempting to make a big-time play for her squad. Drake is going to be happy that they have Frazell in. She should be one of their best 2026 recruits. She just needs to find her rhythm early at the collegiate level and the rest will be history."

[player_tooltip player_id='1302233' first='Leah' last='Brauch'] - 2026 - PG - DCG High School

"DCG has several players that know how to make things happen when their system's might break down on a possession. One of those players, that has been very impressive so far today is [player_tooltip player_id='1302233' first='Leah' last='Brauch']. Brauch might not kill you by scoring 30 a game but she will set her team's offense up as they come down the floor, she is consistently moving so that isn't tough for defenders to stick with her, she is always one of the first on the floor for a loose ball, and she never quits on a play unless she hears a whistle. Brauch has been one of the best controllers of tempo that we have seen this week so far throughout Day 2 of action. If she continues to compete at this level, I'm sure we will see more out of this DCG team."
