One of the top seniors in the state, Sheaffer went all out with 27 points including a 15 point third quarter. Which led the Bruins to a win over Broken Arrow and the first trip to state for the Lady Bruins since 2018. And only their 5th all time. Her third point outburst saw the skill scorer often attack the rim and finish through contact. Building a huge lead for her squad. They then held onto the fourth against a furious BA comeback attempt. Sheaffer and her scrappy Bartlesville teammates will look to keep their magical run going when they square off against a stingy Mustang defense at noon on Wednesday at the Lloyd Noble Center.

One of the more talented sophomores in Oklahoma and her team are peaking at the right time. It was a crazy regular season for East Central, finishing fourth in their district and having multiple head coaches. Woodson and company are on head coach number three and are fittingly 3-0 in the playoffs. Earning a ticket to the Class 5A quarterfinals against Carl Albert on Thursday. Woodson has been on a tear all playoffs. Including 33 points against a very good Glenpool squad in EC's Area Championship win. It's great to see Woodson thriving and most importantly winning in the playoffs.

Metro Christian is the Cinderella story in Class 3A. After a first round loss in Regionals, they had to win five straight in the consolation bracket. Including three games in three days at Area. With the added caveat that all three Area foes were ranked ahead of them. They dusted fellow 918 private schools Cascia Halln and Rejoice with double digit wins. And then squared off against 5th ranked Kiefer. In a game that came down to the last minute, it was Powell who ripped through the lane and scored the game winner. Always a sharpshooter, the Denison University commit has steadily improved her all around scoring the last two years. She finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds in the 44-42 Metro Christian win.

On Friday Haumpy went down gunning in a tough loss. She was super impressive during an in person viewing where she hit big three after big three to keep the Lady Braves in touching distance. She's quick off the bounce and has some deceptive strength when it comes scoring around the basket. While Riverside came up short in that contest, "Kane" would not be denied on Saturday night. She led the bounce back with 25 points. The Lady Braves would take down Cashion 60-51 to reach the state tournament for the third time in four years. Look for Haumpy to be a must watch player on Thursday morning, when she takes on 2nd ranked Howe.

Gates was the Chairwoman of the boards in Douglass' win over 4th ranked McLoud. She pulled down an insane 17 rebounds in the victory. Gates has been one of the breakout performers for the Trojettes. She's has a huge wingspan and is the one of the better athletes in the Class of 2027. Along with her rebounding and high motor, she's developing into a complete scorer. Has a very bright future and is a big reason why Douglass has the opportunity to improve on their runner up finish from last season. Douglass will start off their State Tournament on Tuesday with another top 5 match up. This time against second ranked Broken Bow.

As a sophomore Mong was a key part of the Oilerettes' 2024 Class 2A State Title. With a field that appears wide open, Mong on Friday night submitted a strong case why Merritt could win their second title in three years. She's a country strong guard, who was unstoppable on drives. Multiple "And 1" finishes and carried the whole town of Merritt on her back to a Class 2A Area Championship. Mong is looking to finish her high school career strongly, figuratively and literally with outstanding driving ability.
