This has to be the third or fourth time that we have spoken about [player_tooltip player_id='1583049' first='Blair' last='Winter'] of MFL MarMac High School over the past month or two. Winter took the court on Friday and showed her worth right away for her Lady Martin Bros squad. She put up 22 points in her first showing with a number of rebounds and plays on the defensive end. She followed that up with more production near the bucket, along with even more rebounds in the boat-load. There aren't many that know about Winter but she is a hidden gem out of Iowa for the 2029 Class. The 2029 Class has a chance to be the most impressive Class as a whole that we have seen in a long time out of the state so saying something like this shouldn't be taken lightly.

Sometimes you have prospects that get it done no matter the circumstances. When you look at Payton Dolliver for [program_tooltip program_id='779942' first='ETG' last='Midwest Elite 3SSB'], that's the type of player you are talking about. I've had my questions with Dolliver's production over the years only because of the fact of the competition level she faces during high school ball sometimes but the reality that it doesn't matter who is in front of her. If she has the ball in her hands with anyone guarding her defensively, she has the advantage. Plain and simple. We have seen Dolliver take over to start off this weekend in Texas. She had one of the best days as a whole for Day 1 of these 3SSB contests throughout all age groups and that says something to anyone paying attention. I'm not sure where she is going to end up but I think at this point there is no doubt that Dolliver will end up on a D1 floor for collegiate ball. That's just the reality at this point.

It's going to be a very exciting AAU season for [player_tooltip player_id='888304' first='Kaylee' last='Hanson'] if the start of this weekend was any indiction of how it is going to go. Hanson was vital for her Iowa Hoop Dreams program in their comeback win early this weekend. To sum everything up, Hanson showed up on both sides of the ball as a scorer (22) and rebounder (9) from her SG position. As you might be able to tell, this is a hooper with some length as a shooter. She is a mismatch against opponents that come across as smaller and weaker. We saw that first-hand early on Friday night. Hanson just kept making plays and that resilience is the reason that they had a come back victory in the very end. Something you just love to see from an outside POV!

Paetyn "Double-Double" Peterson was just that this weekend. She was a double-double machine in between the blocks on both offense and defense. Peterson actually started this weekend somewhat slow in the first game but from there, her confidence helped her never look back. She just kept producing, basically averaging a stat-line of 20 & 10 over the weekends throughout the first few days with her 5'11 frame. We saw glimpses of Peterson playing some sound ball this Winter and after watching some of her performances this weekend, I would imagine that she will be the force that pushes PV High School over the next couple of years on the Varsity floor. There are several other factors that go into stuff like that so we will just have to wait and see but there is a lot to like here looking forward.

I haven't had a chance to see Laina Ford compete until this weekend but let me tell you that this is a name to note moving into the rest of this AAU season. Ford is playing up on the 17U Lady Martin Bros team this weekend and she is having moments of leading the team as a whole in several positive statistical categories throughout the game. It's obviously really early in this Spring but if this trend continues it's going to lead to some serious experience moving into this Winter at Cedar Falls for Ford and that is irreplaceable for someone that is only going to be a Sophomore.

Kaytee Irons might not have been the crazy scoring threat that she usually is from deep this weekend to kick things off but she is doing everything else well that a PG should be. She is creating off her dribble action, finding open teammates at a high rate. She is getting scrappy on defense and showing that she isn't going to take plays off on that side of the floor. All while communicating at a high rate, running the floor efficiently, and helping out everyone else around her within their action. The reality is that Irons makes everyone better and that's the job of your PG so as long as she keeps this type of action up, I'm sure the interest is going to flood in from the next level as this AAU season continues to progress. She is someone that her coaches can trust. That's going to take her a long way over the next few years and at the next level.
