Guards Who Soared at the 2026 UNF Team Camp

The guard position was loaded with talent at the 2026 University of North Florida Team Camp. There were numerous guards who showcased the ability to score, facilitate, defend, and control the pace of the game. She showcased the skill set that makes her such a dangerous guard. She played with great pace, handled the ball confidently, and consistently found ways to attack the defense. Reeder displayed strong scoring instincts, getting into the lane, finishing in transition, and shooting from the perimeter for herself and her teammates. What stood out most was her basketball IQ, as she made timely cuts, read the floor well, and remained in sync with those around her. Her combination of skill, quickness, and feel for the game makes her one of the top guards to watch.     [player_tooltip player_id='1122373' first='Ashlynn' last='Day'] was really a standout on both days at the UNF team camp. Day is a special player, and her open-court game is as smooth and electrifying as anyone's. She has a knack for scoring the ball in any manner. What really stood out was her three-point shooting and perimeter shooting. She shot the three-ball with confidence, and even the misses looked good. Day's defense was special, and she applied great pressure on the ball and consistently got steals and deflections. As in the past, she was one of the best at turning turnovers into transition baskets and scoring opportunities. She constantly put pressure on the defense, attacking the basket with purpose and making smart decisions once she got into the paint. Whether finishing herself or drawing defenders and creating opportunities for teammates, Donovan consistently made plays. Her impact also extended to the defensive side of the ball. Donovan played aggressively, generated deflections, forced turnovers, and created havoc on the ball. A true competitor, Donovan's energy and versatility made her one of the standout performers of the camp.     [player_tooltip player_id='727591' first='Jaiden' last='Peterson'] (cover photo) played a major role in her team's success throughout the camp. One of her greatest assets is her ability to play at a fast pace and constantly put pressure on the opposition. Peterson excels in transition, using her speed and ball-handling ability to break down defenders and create opportunities for herself and her teammates. Peterson also showed maturity and the playmaking side of her game, making a conscious effort to get her talented teammates involved. Her team will be favored to return to Jacksonville for the state championships.     [player_tooltip player_id='743520' first='Kimora' last='Green'] is one of the most intense and athletic players on the court. She routinely takes on the challenge of defending the opposing team's top guard while bringing energy on both ends of the floor. Green is an athletic and physical player who takes charges and cuts players off of their path to the goal. On the offensive end, she is a selfless player who can create her own shot, make plays for teammates, and keep the ball moving within the offense. Green also rebounds well from the guard position and pushes the pace in transition, making her a constant playmaker for her team.     Gabby Iturralde was one of the more confident guards at the camp. She attacked the basket aggressively, showing the ability to finish with either hand and make plays in traffic. One of the highlights of the event came when she drove right, spun in the paint, and finished with her left hand at the rim. Iturralde consistently broke down pressure, displayed excellent court vision, and advanced the ball effectively with timely vertical passes. Trent has a complete offensive game, with the ability to shoot the ball, handle the basketball, attack the rim, and create scoring opportunities for both herself and her teammates. She can play either guard position, operate in isolation situations, and is comfortable shooting off the catch or the dribble. Trent also rebounds well from the guard position and competes on the defensive end. Her versatility and skills were evident throughout the camp, making her one of the most impressive young players in the building.
