Eden Horn is another story of too big and too strong for her competition level. Horn is 6’3, she is a heck of defender in the lane, and she always seems to be floating around to make a play on the ball if one of her teammates is slacking. Horn is up there with Evans as the Top BPG leaders in Iowa last season, which makes a lot of sense. She is more than just a taller hooper, she seems to really care about what’s going on around her whenever she is competing. I’m hoping this AAU season is going to help Horn with adding some more experience. If she can do that and take some bruises it’s only going to make her better during the Winter season.

Eden Horn Eden Horn Eden Horn 6'3" | PF/C St. Edmond | 2029 State IA is the#1 rated PF/C in the 2029 Class. To hold onto that #1 spot, Horn is going to have to keep progressing in the game of Basketball. Right now she stands at the tallest prospect out of the 2029 Class and she would be considered, “a block party waiting to happen.” Horn led the state the past six months in BPG because of her mixture of size and the competition level she is lacing up against. She is just too big for everyone that matches up against her team. She is good for 5-7 BPG, which is a staggering numbers, and she is a steady scoring and rebounding threat next to the basket as you might imagine. Just like everyone in this Class, it’s going to come down to Horn’s production over the years. If she puts in the work and her game follows along, this is a D1 prospect. Right now she is too raw in the skill side of things but you know how it goes, “you can’t teach height”, so the sky is the limit if she can get things to synchronize over the next few years.

St. Edmond has put together one of their best seasons in a long time and I don’t that is a coincidence. It’s because they added some young talent to their lineup. Specifically 2029 Center – Eden Horn Eden Horn Eden Horn 6'3" | PF/C St. Edmond | 2029 State IA . Horn is working around the blocks, learning and soaking in all the knowledge she can from her current experiences as we work through the Winter. Right now is getting a ton of repetitions for a Freshman and that is only going to benefit her when she gets to being an upperclassmen. She does a decent job at controlling the lane as an enforcer but she is still working on her confidence as a whole. With that being said, she is still putting up 14 & 14 in the meantime. That is definitely something to note as we continue on.

Eden Horn Eden Horn Eden Horn 6'3" | PF/C St. Edmond | 2029 State IA is one of the tallest prospects that the 2029 Class in Iowa has to offer at this time. Horn comes in listed at 6’3 for St. Edmond Catholic out of Fort Dodge and she should always put impressive numbers as a rebounder, blocker, and scorer near the bucket. We have seen Horn average some serious numbers so far this Winter in the Blocks and Rebounds department while holding her competition to low numbers in other important statistical categories. The question about Horn moving forward will be her progression. She needs to play against some hoopers that are better than her each week as she trains if she wants to unlock her full potential but you know what we always say, you can’t teach height so to start things off Horn sits at #13 in this Update.

Eden Horn Eden Horn Eden Horn 6'3" | PF/C St. Edmond | 2029 State IA is has put herself on the map this season in a big way. She is not only leading the freshman class in rebounding, but she is leading the entire state of Iowa in rebounds per game (14.5RPG). The 6’3″ power forward does lots of things well — she rebounds like it’s her job, she’s scoring at an efficient rate, and she is a menace in the paint on defense. If you give Horn the ball, there’s a good chance she’s going to convert. She’s shooting 60% from the field and is consistent at the line as well 75%. On the defensive end she protects the paint with discipline and high hands — Horn is averaging 5 blocks per game in class 1A. Horn also gets up and down the floor with ease and has proven her ability to finish at speed with either hand. Already flashing a 20-20 game in her early career, there are lots of points and boards in this fabulous freshman’s future.

I am not sure what we will exactly see out of Eden Horn Eden Horn Eden Horn 6'3" | PF/C St. Edmond | 2029 State IA this Winter at St. Edmond’s but I’m sure she is going to end her Freshman season while averaging a double-double in points-rebounds, as well as averaging a high number of blocks on defense. Horn is one of the tallest players that the state of Iowa will have to offer, no matter the age or Class level at 6’3. She will have the ability to be the staple of her varsity program on both sides of the floor. We always say you can’t teach height. You can’t and this type of height is a game-changer when used in the correct ways.

We haven’t spoken about 2029 – Eden Horn Eden Horn Eden Horn 6'3" | PF/C St. Edmond | 2029 State IA of St. Edmond Catholic High School out of Fort Dodge, Iowa. Horn steps into high school at 6’3, making her one of the tallest prospects in the state of Iowa only behind a few others. You can’t teach height and Horn is the definition of that. She has a lot of future promise in athletics with the right guidance and consistency the next few years. She just needs to stay locked in on getting 1% better every day. If she does that, the rest will be history in a heartbeat.
