SCBCA Girls Elite Camp Preview: 2027/28

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the start of every high school season, fans of every team in the state begin said season with unbridled optimism that this could be a season to remember.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>South Carolina's high school girls basketball talents hope that is the case for their respective teams. Prior to tip-off, many of them will take part in this year's SCBCA Girls Elite Camp at the North Charleston Athletic Center. It will occur on October 8 with the boys event happening the day prior to.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We at Prep Girls Hoops will also be on the scene in the Lowcountry for this year's festivities. As she starts her freshman season, one can see Morrow sporting the red and black of 5A Nation Ford. This past season on the AAU circuit, she ran with Crown Academy. Morrow knows how to organize an offense in a half court set and can shine in iso situations. Ball handling is another element of her game she places lots of emphasis on. Hanna Yellow Jackets made a significant improvement last season as they compiled 18 victories en route to a second-round playoff berth. She wore the AAU uniform of FBC Motton United Youngunz as well as that of KST. Earl competed in 28 games last season as an eighth grader. She plays tough defense that can leave opposing ball carriers turnover prone and that can clog the passing lanes of an opposing team. Among the many things she does well is play heads-up defense that can put her in position to corral steals and efficiently drain 3-point attempts. She competed in 24 games last season for a Wildcats team that was among the class of the 5A landscape. Godfrey's team – Lexington – will be an interesting one to watch. Lucas was a huge reason for that. She may have been a seventh grader last season, but she displayed a development and talent in her game that is not found in many veterans. She took to the court in 27 games last season and averaged 9.7 points and 2.8 steals per contest. Attacking the rim, defending the ball, scoring and affecting a game's tempo are among the many things Lucas gets done with regularity.
