PGH Freshman Showcase: Team 5 Evaluations

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2028 attendee list had us eager to watch them compete at our Freshman Showcase on August 25th, 2024. Our unique format included 5 hours of games split up into predetermined 3v3, 5v5, and pool play to end the event. Let's talk about media exposure. There have been thousands of views from viewers on X of coverage provided by our scouts during the event, and our written articles will be read by hundreds. Every participant will receive a write-up in our articles, which is something unique and special about Prep Girls Hoops showcases. She used a sweet fake pass layup move on a drive, swiped the ball away to score a left layup, and added another left finish off the dribble. Logyn demonstrated her shooting ability by hitting a straightway 3 off the dribble and another pull-up jumper from the free throw line. She threw long passes to teammates for assists in transition, beat defenders to score left-handed layups off the dribble, and knocked down multiple triples from the corner. Mackenzie proved her toughness by tying up the ball on defense, sealing defenders in the post, and creating turnovers with her effort on the ball. She worked hard to stay in front of ball handlers on defense, drove hard through the defense to cause a foul, and scored a layup in transition on a cut to the basket. She beat defenders with her quick attacks off the dribble and converted layups through contact at the rim, while pouring in many three-point shots along the way. Halle saw the floor well and made accurate passes to teammates for assists, knocked down free throws, and scored offensive rebound putbacks. She created countless scoring opportunities for teammates by throwing strong skip passes and making good decisions with the ball. Ella showed her shooting efficiency as she knocked down free throws and multiple open 3s from different spots. She displayed her determination and speed by chasing down a breakaway layup to force a missed layup and added multiple transition layups with pace. She stole the ball away and accelerated to score a full-court left layup in transition. Nyah blocked shots and powered up off two feet to score with either hand in the paint. Kendall attacked hard downhill to draw a foul and knocked down her free throw with textbook form. She fiercely blocked many shots in the paint and was one of the most aggressive rebounders on the court. Kendall secures boards and finds open shooters circling the perimeter. In my notes I wrote down"Kendall is a rebounding machine" and she sealed her defender in the low post to score off two feet. She crashed the offensive boards to secure a rebound and scored a reverse layup, worked hard to guard the ball on defense, and made extra passes on the offensive end to give her teammates open looks to score. She had a quick burst dribbling the ball and forced a missed shot with solid defensive positioning. She buried a smooth pull-up 3 off the dribble and kept her eyes up under pressure to find open teammates. Madison elevated to block shots on defense, hung tough to score a contested floater off the dribble, and threw dart passes for assists.
