Offensively, last year Mac Irvin had options at every position, and this year they have that, plus some players that can hang their hat on defense. Henderson’s length allows her to be effective in multiple areas of the court. She can block, alter and has the ability to contest all type of shots. From the scoring viewpoint, she can be impactful in the low block and right near the rim. Has the confidence to stretch the court as well. 

Baffles me why anyone even bother to take a shot within Amaya Henderson Amaya Henderson 6'3" | PF/C Whitney Young | 2025 State IL ‘s vicinity.  It is instinctual that her hands find the ball whenever an opponent takes a shot.  She had double digit blocks in one game alone.  Her ability to put back the ball highlights her offensive threat.

Henderson truly just gets better in each game that she plays. Her progression has been great and her ability to adapt to the new style of the game is apparent too. Amaya has always been a force to deal with on the defensive side (3+ blocks in each game), but its her offense that has taken a leap! She knocked down some threes, and has sped up her moves on the low block. She’s figuring out how to use her length efficiently and effectively. The potential and upside are limitless and high for Henderson.. and I truly believe she’s coming into her own. 

Henderson has taken a step forward in her game every time Ive seen her play. Her length is noticed immediately, but her confidence to start impacting the game from a shooting perspective cant go unnoticed. On the defensive side, there’s no argument that she will get 3-5 blocks, due to her ball awareness and willingness to contest and alter shots.
