was one of the most impressive forwards at the showcase, displaying a well-rounded game on both ends of the floor. She showed the ability to operate inside while also stepping out and scoring on the perimeter, where she was consistent from three-point range. Matthews has good size and strength, allowing her to hold position and compete against physical forwards in the paint. Beyond her scoring, she has excellent hands and tracks the ball well, making her a strong rebounder. Matthews led her team with 8.6 rebounds per game, along with 1.1 blocks and 10 points per game. She helped guide her team to the brink of the Final Four, falling just one point short to Somerset, the eventual state champion.

As the No. 2 seed, Lincoln Park not only hosts this Sweet 16 matchup but also benefits from Bishop Verot making the long trip across the stat, and Bre’s presence inside could make that advantage count. Rebounding will be critical, especially against a Bishop Verot team that thrives on second-chance opportunities, and Bre’s size and strength must neutralize that edge. Her versatility is what makes her such a matchup problem. She can control the paint defensively by blocking or altering shots while also being a reliable scoring option from 15 feet and in on the offensive end. If she dominates the glass, protects the rim, and provides efficient interior scoring, her two-way impact could be the deciding factor in sending Lincoln Park to the region finals.

Bre gave good minutes and solid effort to an EYBL team that was lacking a true post presence. She has the frame and strength to battle with top post prospects from around the country, and she’s going to be a much better player because of this experience and her summer. There’s a lot of upside for this hooper after her first summer playing against elite competition.

Bre is an incredibly versatile player which is a huge plus in terms of recruitment. She’s tall, long, and has a strong build. All of that combined with her ability to make shots from beyond the arc make her a huge stock-riser in our rankings. This season, she averaged a double double with 14.2 ppg and 11.7 rpg. This summer on the EYBL circuit will be a big opportunity for her to showcase her skill on a national level.
