Expert Analysis
Charles Foster | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Camille was disruptive from the opening tip. She recorded at least four steals by denying the entry pass, anticipating the reversal and jumping the passing lane with precision. Each takeaway immediately ignited transition opportunities, as she pushed the break coast to coast—finishing through contact or delivering timely passes to open teammates filling the lanes.
In half-court sets, she is most effective on the block where she can establish position and play through her defender. However, her versatility makes her even more difficult to guard. When she faces up from the wing, she has the skill set to stretch the defense, forcing opponents to respect both her interior presence and her ability to attack from the perimeter.

It was clear from the opening tap that Camille was locked in and ready for a big game. She won the jump ball went down for the outlet and drove for the basket in the first few seconds of the game. On the next possession she attacked off the dribble from the high post for a score and followed that up by slitting the double team for another score. At the end of the day she was sitting on 17 points in only three quarters of play as the Cadets advanced to the semi finals.

Camille quietly delivered a dominant performance against two young centers, taking control of the paint on her own. In the first half, she owned the offensive glass, creating second-chance opportunities when her team’s shots were not falling. After the break, her offensive game displayed a level of polish, as she used smooth spin moves and strong footwork to score over both of McNamara’s post players. Her presence inside set the tone on both ends of the floor.

Camille kept things hot in the post. She was able to turn and face in the post and use her speed and length to get to the basket in one dribble. She also used an effective drop step to get what she wanted. She finished with 9 points but was able to score on almost all of her touches inside. She could have been used a little more when the game was tight or when the Cadets had the lead. Of course it’s easy to state the obvious after the fact. The rematch should be interesting.

The SMU commit has elite length and is a very athletic player. With her athleticism driving to the basket she can be a stretch four at the next level. Was unstoppable going to her left hand getting and one baskets!

Camille Nesmith led a pretty balanced St. John’s effort. There’s a level of smoothness in how Camille plays that I enjoy watching. When she faces up and attacks the rim, she does a great job getting where she wants and finishing. Some of the spots I had seen in the past, where you could move her off her spot, you don’t see as often now. She has clearly gotten stronger, and she did well playing through contact today.

Camille was very athletic, at around 6’5″ she moved with the grace and nimbleness of a guard. She sprinted the floor in transition and was able to catch and finish smoothly on the fly. She was disruptive in the lane blocking and altering shots on defense. Despite having a slim frame, she was one of the most physical players on the floor. Her ability to impact both ends of the floor will be big for the Cadets this season.

Camille can use her size and athleticism to create both offensively and defensively in the paint. She can drive around defenders from the mid post using her quickness and she rebounds keeping the ball high.

One of the great athletes and players in the 2026 class! Great size and length for post player who is a great rim protecter. Is a monster on the glass her team seems like they are never small with her on the court. Still a little raw on the offensive end but still has great upside with a college frame and athleticism!

Camille brings some nice size to the Cadets. She long and active and at 6’3″ she’s an effective shot blocker. She is physical despite her slim frame and has a good shooting form suggesting that she can stretch the floor possibly out to the three.
