Southeast Polk’s varsity team is going to have a handful of college committed players on their roster going into this season, which can only mean one thing. Everyone that they will come up against is going to take them very seriously and have them marked on their calendars as a “must-win” contest. One of the main pieces to this Rams team is Eva Solseth Eva Solseth 5'9" | CG Southeast Polk | 2024 State IA . Solseth is a Shooting Guard that displays even balance and coordination on each attempt she lets go. To be a good shooter, you need to understand spacing. Solseth does a great job of that and seemingly always gets her shot attempt off when looking for a bucket from deep. If it’s in transition, she will run to an open spot on the floor, that will give her enough time to let it go. If it’s in the half court, she always runs with intent off of screens to get a clean look and this opens up a lot of other things for her teammates. The Rams will be ready for this season. If they get a good matchup come Playoff time, who knows. We maybe talking about this team as a State Contender before everything is said and done.

I had the chance of watching Eva Solseth Eva Solseth 5'9" | CG Southeast Polk | 2024 State IA compete a few weeks ago. During this time Solseth displayed that she has a great understanding for space and her own abilities on the floor. She was matched up against college-level competition at the Truman State Elite camp and holding her own. She was a player that all the coaches and staff were talking about while competing in competitive play because of her demeanor and calculated tactics when she had the basketball in her hands. Solseth will join up with Averie Ryan Averie Ryan 5'10" | PF Johnston | 2024 State IA and Grand View University once her high school season comes to an end. I’m interested how Solseth will fit into the system there at GV but no matter, if she keeps her head down and works hard, she is going to be successful anywhere.

Eva Solseth Eva Solseth 5'9" | CG Southeast Polk | 2024 State IA is going to come back this year to Southeast Polk high school and have a big role in her teams success. She is going to be touching the ball on every offensive possession, while being one of their best overall defensive players as well. It’s really hard to put a position on Solseth so I’ll just say she can play the 2-4, depending on the matchup and what her team is asking of her. This winter, I’m excited to see Solseth have another great season to follow her junior year, with a bit of a chip on her shoulder. She is going to work hard and stick to what she does best and that’s going to bring her overall success on the floor.

Quick twitch guard who is smooth with the ball. Good on ball defender. Fast first dribble and go when given the ball in space. Sets feet with even balance while attacking the rim. Plays off of two when plausible. Isn’t afraid to get on the floor and get her hands dirty to help her team out.
