Expert Analysis

The growth of Heinz has been amazing to see over the last year. She has always been an impactful piece for PND, but she truly has emerged as a piece that can change the entire outcome of a game. Scoring is one part that she has worked on.. her ability to score on her own in the low post area, as well as showing the confidence to take the extended mid range. She is a complete athlete, so scoring off a cut or a fast break comes with some ease due to her length and athleticism finish over the defense. Defensively, she can legitimately guard 1-4 and make the 5 hesitate. Her potential is crazy high.
CEILING: A key contributor on a highly competitive D1 Program/ Multiple Players of the week.

Heinz has been a glue piece for her state championship team over the past couple of years, and going into this year, nothing will change on that side. She’s a true athlete with a gift for just understanding where she needs to be at all times. A force on both ends of the boards, hell to deal with in the open court, and defensively, she could guard 2-4 with no issue.

Heinz was an absolute force inside, dominating the boards on both ends and controlling the paint. She feasted on offensive rebounds, giving her team multiple second-chance points. Physically bigger than most opponents and more athletic than expected, Heinz imposed her will with a combination of strength, positioning, and effort. The forward ran the floor very well and stood out in the transition game, too.

I’ve been advocating for Cora over the past couple of years because players like her don’t come around often these days. Heinz isn’t a kid that wants to do the most when it comes to being on the court, she is a player that will fill whatever role is needed of her and find a way to impact from there. She has great size and shows a ton of athleticism as well.

The potential of Cora is still raw, but when you have the college frame at such a young age, all you need is the fine tuning of a skillset. Heinz is and could be a key piece for PND over the next couple of years. She has not scratched the surface of being a legitimate threat as a rim runner.

An interesting prospect based on her length alone, Heinz shows clear potential. With her being part of a top tier program where the ball moves a lot— plays so well into her strengths. Off the ball is where Cora truly shines in my opinion —cuts, fast breaks, and slips are her bread and butter. PND kids just simply get better with time.

Heinz is the rim-running type of player that every program needs. She’s the first one taking off if she’s not the one to secure the rebound. She has high hands on every shot attempt and usually does a great job of staying straight up in the paint. Not a player who steps outside of her role.
