We are now going to check out our first series of some top Iowa performers at a couple of games that were played at the Prep Girls Hoops Live event in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The talent is outrageous, and the pool of players are displaying top-notch skillsets. I’m seeing a good range of performances out of players of a variety of positions, and it’s been a hoot to watch. Let’s park the car, gather our notebooks, and head into the event to see the enormous amount of talent that we got going on in the state of Iowa.

—Audi performed her duties well and stepped up when she needed to. Wasn’t providing her usual scoring power in the first half, but made up for it in the second. She went off in the second half and finished the game with 24 points. Hit some key mid-range shots and made a high percentage down low with some marvelous post moves and bunnies, while being fed some tremendous passes from her fellow guards. She took control of the boards and was a monster racking up the rebounds. She also blocked some shots as well. It was not uncommon to see her make some passes down the court to high-flying guards; demonstrating her overall high basketball IQ and court vision. Even though CY Select game up short in this game, Audi stood out and gave it her all to bring the game close. Keep up the good work, Audi!
2. Katy Reyerson Katy Reyerson 6'2" | PF West Marshall | 2023 State IA , 6’2, F, West Marshall, 2023
–Katy was on a mission today, and that was not difficult to identify. I could tell that she was very focused, level-headed, and wanted to have an impact on the game on both ends of the floor. She provided a spark in the first half scoring 5 points, including a talented AND 1, within a couple of possessions. I loved her aggressive mentality, and her tenacity to want to put the ball in the net. She finished the game with 8 points. Her size is lethal, and good things will continue to happen for her, as she is very versatile and can do a lot on the court. Is still young yet, and has loads of potential. Keep up the good work, Katy!
3. Molly Joyce Molly Joyce 5'7" | PG Bishop Garrigan | 2023 State IA , 5’7, PG, Bishop Garrigan, 2023
–Molly did not put up big scoring numbers in this first game of the event, however, she made her presence known as a true point guard. I thought she dished out some great dimes to teammates, showed off a seriously good handle, utilized her athleticism, and brought tons of energy and ambition to the court that rubbed off on her teammates. She finished the game with 6 points. I love her passion for the game, and she is a great floor general out there. With a continued work ethic, she will achieve great things, as she has the ability to do that. Keep up the good work, Molly!

4. Kaliyah Sain Kaliyah Sain 5'10" | SF Cedar Rapids Kennedy | 2023 State IA , 5’11, G, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, 2023
–Kaliyah had a solid game, and demonstrated her basketball IQ with some great passes to teammates in both halves. I like her relaxed demeanour she played with, and I thought she did a great job of letting the game come to her. She finished the game with 12 points, and did not force anything. She hit some free throws, and took the ball hard to the rim displaying her talent and high-level ability. Team Iowa lost this game 57-49, however, Sain had an impact on the game for sure. Another kid with great size, and the sky is the limit. Keep up the good work, Kaliyah!
5. Emma Slings, 5’8, PG, Cedar Rapids Jefferson, 2023
–Emma was a weapon out on the wing in this game. She is a very underrated player, and could evolve into a high-level collegiate player. Her guard skills are off the charts, and she has a lot of natural talent. Her capability to get to the rim and finish is amazing, and she has the athleticism to put up and finish some difficult drives. She played with a lot of passion in this game, and it was very evident throghout the game. She finished this game with 7 points. She will be making some serious noise next season out at Jefferon HS. Good things in store. Keep up the good work, Emma!
6. Lauren Golinghorst, 6’0, F, North Scott, 2023
–Lauren was a pivotal and integral dimension of the offensive dominance for Team Iowa in this game. She made some critical bunnies, and hit a 3-pointer in the second half. She has some great size and length, and can play both inside and out. She finished this game with 10 points. She has the ability to have a major impact on both ends of the floor, and can be very effective. She will only be getting better as months go on. Keep up the good work, Lauren!
