695Hoops Fall League Standouts-Week 2
Week two of the 695Hoops fall league was an exciting one featuring a double overtime thriller between Western Tech and Forest Park. Ringers are welcomed in this league so we got a chance to see some exciting younger prospects as well as some tough seniors.
Mckenzie Fitzgerald, 2026, Team Melo
Really enjoyed watching McKenzie run with varsity players. She is combo guard that can score from anywhere. She ran with Forest Park players in two games on the day. She calmly sank two clutch free throws with less than a minute in the game to help them force overtime. She came back and scored 21 points against Mercy in the second game. She’s very poised and skilled. Plays with Team Melo and is headed to Forest Park High.
Maya Carnes, 2022, Friends
Maya has turned in two weeks of strong performances in league play. She is a senior at The Friends School but is running with Western Tech. A 5’6″ combo guard that can run an offense or play off the ball, she has showcased both abilities. She puts pressure on defenses by rebounding and immediately pushing the break by pass or dribble. She has a nice mid range game and can get into the paint and finish. She still considering her college options.
Destini Ward, 2022, Western Tech
Destini has committed to St. Francis of PA and she showed off her full bag of tricks in week two. She scored 28 in Western Tech’s thrilling double overtime win over Forest Park. Most of her buckets came from drives and slashes to the hoop, but she also knocked down some jumpers. She is a physically tough lefty that knows how to create space to get her shots off. She’s a strong defender that plays bigger than her size. Plug her in at the 1,2 or 3 spot.
Chloe Mills Chloe Mills 5'0" | PG Baltimore Poly | 2026 State MD , 2026, 717 Hoop Dreams.
Chloe made the trip down from the 717 (Pa) to run with Team Light Green which is a mix of players from Forest Park and local club teams. Another talented guard playing up with varsity players and she more than held her own. This small but speedy guard was a blur out on the court as she constantly blew by defenders to get to the rim and score or pull up for jumpers. She scored double figures in both games. Lots of potential here. She plays with 717 Hoops Dream in the summer.
Danielle Jones, 2022, Forest Park
Danielle is just about all the way back from her ACL injury she suffered while playing quarterback for JV football. I was excited to see her progress is on schedule. Dani is a physical wing/two guard that can bang inside with the bigs and step outside to knock down threes. She is very skilled and competitive. She should have an outstanding senior season.
Laurie Satchell Laurie Satchell 5'9" | PF St. Paul School | 2022 State MD , 2022, St. Paul’s
Laurie balled out in the double overtime win over Forest Park, dropping the game winning shot. She goes to St. Paul’s but is with the Western Tech squad in this league. She did her usual damage on the boards, hitting the double figure mark, and also scored in double figures. She has added a nice three point shot to her arsenal and looked comfortable letting it fly. I don’t know what her best position is, she’s gamer. Just put her in with four other players and watch her work. At 5’11” she has the size and strength to help a team in a number of ways.
Amori Jarrett Amori Jarrett 5'8" | CG Shabach Christian Academy | 2025 State MD , 2025, Pikesville
This freshman phenom hit Wise with a flurry of three pointers to open the game and then proceeded to show off the full arsenal of weapons in her bag. She got to the rim at will and converted several “and 1” opportunities. She moved seamlessly between the point and two guard spots and showed the ability to guard both spots effectively. She finished with 29 points on the day.
