The Week Ahead: Week 1 (FREE)

The 2021-22 season tips off on Monday night across the state. Here’s a look at some of the best games in the week ahead. This is not a list of the only good games around the state but rather a list of top matchups. Not all the best games will make the list each week. Monday 8th region favorite Anderson County and recent Kentucky commit host a Male team that many have pegged as a dark horse in the 7th region. and Hart County make the trip to Campbellsville to take on and the Lady Eagles. and her young but dangerous Montgomery County team take on and Frederick Douglass in Lexington. Tuesday CAL has their sights set on a big season and their season kicks off against North Oldham. and are 2 D1 signees to watch in this one. and Central hit the road to Frankfort where they’ll play and Franklin County. There will be a ton of talent on the court when Russell travels to George Rogers Clark. and are two of the best players in the state. Wednesday and Ryle take on and Campbell County in a northern Kentucky showdown. Male makes the trip to Mercy to take on and the new look Jaguars. Thursday Harlan County heads to Knox Central where they will face a stiff test against and a loaded Knox squad. has West Carter in the mix to make a run at Rupp. They host and Pikeville. Friday and Highlands take on and Cooper in a good early season matchup of 9th region contenders. Early season test for and Sacred Heart as they take on and Manual. Saturday There are a ton of one day shootouts and showcases across the state. and Sayre take on Tonia Woodall and Bryan Station in an early season district contest. Mercer County travels to Whitley County for an afternoon throwdown. and look to push Mercer back to Rupp.
