SGGC: Maret vs Bishop O’Connell

SGGC: Maret vs Bishop O’Connell [player_tooltip player_id="137211" first="Page" last="Greenburg"] - 5’8" - Guard - Maret - 2022 Page has one of the quickest shot and releases in the game.  She keeps her for consistent throughout showing that it's not rushed and has a good follow through.  She was the high scorer in the game with a quiet 24 points.  Saying "quiet 24" seems odd but you wouldn't have known without looking at the scoresheet because of her efficiency.  She takes good shots and makes then at high percentage, meaning, she takes fewer shots than most people scoring less points than her. <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/12/DSC_0135-scaled-crop-2049x1345-1639700458.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-365559" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/12/DSC_0135-scaled-crop-2049x1345-1639700458-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> [player_tooltip player_id="239480" first="London" last="Liley"] - 5’9" - Forward - Maret - 2025 The freshman is the true definition of a "stretch" four scoring 17 points that included four 3-pointers.  There aren't many freshmen around that play at the level of her, she has a strong frame and is a solid rebounder.  She can be physical inside which allowed her to have multiple trips to the line. <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-365554" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/12/DSC_0177-300x199.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="199" /> Keira Scott - 6’1" - Wing - Bishop O’Connell - 2024 The Knights have a good on with Keira.  She looks the part and has the skill to match.  She is athletic and makes some good plays on both ends.  She has a nice-looking shot that will continue to get more consistent with reps and making her a really tough draw for defenders.  She's a Virginia kid but was worth the mention in this game as I'm certain we will be hearing about her a lot. [player_tooltip player_id="137214" first="Zaiha" last="Minnis"] - 5’9" - Wing - Maret - 2022 Zaiha had a nice looking three ball going but it was just rimming out.  She showed that the range is there and that it is a shot that she is comfortable with.  When she attacks with a head of steam, it's usually best for defenders to get out of her way as she is hard to defend without fouling.  Her style of play will more than likely have her with an even brighter college career than high school and her game suits the physically challenging college game right now. <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/12/DSC_0133-scaled-crop-2049x1345-1639700861.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-365561" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/12/DSC_0133-scaled-crop-2049x1345-1639700861-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> [player_tooltip player_id="299819" first="River" last="Adams"] - 5’8" - Guard - Maret -2024 It seemed like every time I looked up, River would score.  It was surprising to look at the sheet and see only 8 points by her name.  She made plays in multiple ways and her scores stood out as they were during impactful times of the game.  With her and London in place the Frogs have a foundation laid out to be a DC State contender for several years to come.
