Adriana McGee – 2024 – I like to give out nicknames to my ballers and the kids. All that comes to mind when I watch Adriana play is “Steady”. Her game is so polished and strong. Slows the game down and really sizes up her defenders and just breaks them down. Always making the unselfish pass. Don’t help off her she will take you to the cup and finish with strength. Help on her and she will pass out and make your team look silly. really a tough defensive matchup who knows how to change pace so well and shale girls out of their sneakers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCXU50XtsGI
Vanessa Bickford Vanessa Bickford 5'9" | PG Dallas Center-Grimes | 2024 State IA – 2024 – Vanessa is a long hybrid player who really uses her length well on the court. I feel like I’m going to sound extremely repetitive in this article cause all these girls can really ball. What sets Bickford apart from other players to me is her long frame and rebounding game. She is a huge mismatch for smaller guards. Big’s are to slow to keep up with her and she will stop on a dime and pull up on you or make the right pass if a player is open. fun to watch and will be coming out this summer looking to make waves and prepare for a strong school ball season and another state tourney appearance. I’m guessing she wants that championship next year. This summer will be her proving grounds to me. Highlights at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCwNxvGYjZQ
Jenica Lewis – 2026 – The top-ranked player in the class 0f 2026. Jenica has a big game for such a young baller. Her basketball IQ is off the charts for an incoming freshman. She will be playing her school ball for defending state champion Johnston. A very special player. Her handles are on point. She can pull up from anywhere. Deadly three-point touch. Her aggression on the court is what sets her apart. She can finish in a crowd extremely well. She will get to pick where she wants to play one day if she can keep up the momentum and keep growing. Kyra Taylor Kyra Taylor 5'9" | PF Davenport North | 2024 State IA – 2024 – Kyra will post you up. Very aggressive back to the basket game with lots of great footwork and strength. She runs the floor well and rebounds heavily. If she gets a mismatch with a slower big she can isolate you with her dribble and get to the cup. Ballhawk type of defender who uses her length really well. highlights at https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ZzaQW_62Nec
Molly Noelck Molly Noelck 5'9" | PG Johnston | 2023 State IA – 2023 – A straight-up shooter that can guard your bigs. She can really hit the three ball. Molly was really a spark off the bench for state champs Johnston. Kinda their sixth man last year. She looks to expand her role I’m sure as a senior and maybe get some starts. Her presence on defense is a problem for smaller guards. All these girls could play any position on the court really. So interchangeable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO5D5MXUEXE
Emma Hampton Emma Hampton 5'10" | SG Johnston | 2023 State IA – 2023 – Great role player for state champion Johnston. Doesn’t shoot a lot of three’s. rebounds well and is very active in passing lanes with her long frame. Passes very well for a traditional post. She will do the little things for her team. Haidyn Hull Haidyn Hull 5'9" | SG Grinnell | 2023 State IA – 2023 – I have seen this girl grow and develop over her whole career. By far one of my favorite players from my hometown Grinnell. Hull is a force to be reckoned with on the court. She is a deadly sniper from 3. Really will have a tremendous college career and senior year. She always has the green light. She can get to the bucket and is strong for a guard. Highlights at https://www.hudl.com/profile/13921536/Haidyn-Hull
Kendall McDaniel Kendall McDaniel 6'0" | C Valley | 2024 State IA – 2024 – Kendall is your anchor in the post. Her traditional post-up game and strength are just too much for a lot of other bigs. She can stretch her girl out and hit the three-ball. A very quick first step for a post player. I see her being a really good power forward in college. Ella Sharar Ella Sharar 5'10" | SF Iowa Falls-Alden | 2024 State IA – 2024 – Ella’s game is all about free throws and buckets. She is a capable three-point shooter but is really great at getting to the rim. Apply’s constant pressure and gets you deflections and steals. Highlights at https://www.hudl.com/profile/15434572/ella-sharar
Eva Solseth Eva Solseth 5'9" | CG Southeast Polk | 2024 State IA – 2024 – Solseth’s game is strong and very under control. She will bully ball her smaller defenders to the rim. A highly capable three-point shooter who also sees the court extremely well and passes unselfishly. Will make waves for the Rams as she grows in her game.
