The Prep Girls Hoops 2022 Dynasty Region Finals was held this past weekend at Hy-Vee Arena, Kansas City, Missouri. Below is at some of the stand out shooters from Day 1.

Photo: Prep Girls Hoops.[/caption][player_tooltip player_id="170611" first="Charlie" last="Broaden"], 6’1", SF/CG, St. Joe Central (MO), KC Royalty 2023, 2023 - Broaden is very effective working in the screen game. While she can move into space in the half court game what she is also effective in is in the high screen game. After setting solid screens she is a major threat to hit the screen and pop three ball.
[player_tooltip player_id="249267" first="Allison" last="Heathcock"], 5’11", SF, Edmund North,Team Buddy Buckets 2023, 2024 - Long, fast, quick, and smart Heathcock is a threat to score from inside, outside, and in transition. Where she especially lite up opponents was from beyond the arc. She will bury them off the catch, off half-court defense dribble through, and in transition.
[player_tooltip player_id="261716" first="Cooper" last="Hilton"], 5’6", SG, Coweta, Oklahoma Swift 2023, 2023 - Hilton’s quick release out of the half-court offense is tough to get to. And a defender loses her when she drifts to a corner...cash.

Madison Lee, 5’8", CG, Cinco Ranch, Texas Cagers Select 2023 White, 2023 - Through the entirety of day 1 Lee showed an ability to consistently hit the mid-range jumper. And she did so off the dribble and in transition. Defenders also need to look her up from the perimeter.

Photo: Prep Girls Hoops.[/caption][player_tooltip player_id="241014" first="Kate" last="Melton"], 5’7", CG, Edmund North, Team Buddy Buckets 2023, 2024 - Especially off the spot up from moving in space or off the step and catch off the ball reversal Melton showed herself to be a consistent perimeter threat all day.
[player_tooltip player_id="318207" first="KK" last="Peeler"], 5’2", PG, Edmund North, Team Buddy Buckets 2023, 2024 - Peeler is a player that must be defended in space away from the ball, on the ball, and off the dribble. A solid mid-range and perimeter shooting threat what makes her especially dangerous is her quick release.

Photo: Prep Girls Hoops.[/caption][player_tooltip player_id="206724" first="Karissa" last="Smith"], 5’9", CG, Appleton North, Wisconsin Blaze 2023 Inferno, 2023 - Smith was among the best all around players at the event and her presence as a scorer and shooter was consistent. Other teams knew it and still could not stop her from scoring. Among the best mid-range shooters in attendance, Smith is especially strong with the three ball..
[caption id="attachment_438912" align="alignleft" width="146"] Bethel and Oklahoma Swift 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="197971" first="Parker" last="Stevenson"]. Photo: Robert Kelly, Prep Girls Hoops.[/caption][player_tooltip player_id="197971" first="Parker" last="Stevenson"], 5’6", CG, Bethel, Oklahoma Swift 2023, 2023 - Stevenson was among the perimeter players who made the Swift a well balanced and difficult team to defend. A consistent shooter, her transition speed and spot up ability off transition play especially helps her get open looks.
[player_tooltip player_id="206730" first="Alana" last="Zarneke"], 6’0", SG, Kaukauna, Wisconsin Blaze 2023 Inferno, 2023 - Zarneke’s play in a tough battle with eventual semi-finalist Team Buddy Buckets sold me. The trio of three pointers I saw her make were quickly release, good decision shots out of the offense and off transition spot ups.
