Sunday, August 27th, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana hosted its second annual Freshman Showcase. The event, which took place at Fishers High School, included more than 110 registered participants, all from the 2027 class. Fellow writer Jeremy Brooks (PGH Iowa) will be writing a number of follow-up articles from the event as well, but I wanted to focus my time on each team and each young lady who participated in the showcase through a series of articles of my own. Additionally, I would like to thank all of the players, parents, and support staff who made this event a success!

.

TEAM 11:
#51 - [player_tooltip player_id='751086' first='Kaylie' last='Harmon'], Columbus North H.S. - Kaylie is a nice, strong, fairly skillful guard. She has some touch from the perimeter, but she also uses her strength to get downhill and attack the basket. I really liked the effort she gave as well.

#72 - [player_tooltip player_id='751048' first='Carly' last='Holmes'], Franklin Central H.S. - Carly is a very strong, powerful lefty wing prospect. She can knock down an open rhythm jumper, but she also has some deceptive North/South speed and can get to the basket frequently.

#600 - [player_tooltip player_id='743641' first='Kaylin' last='Kathmann'], Batesville H.S. - Kaylin has a lot of athletic upside. She has broad shoulders, length, and fluid athleticism, plus she has some bounce to her and end to end speed. I liked the activity and urgency she played with Sunday.

#625 - [player_tooltip player_id='751122' first='Sydney' last='Campbell'], Batesville H.S. - Sydney is another Lady Bulldog who played with nice effort Sunday. She has solid lower body strength, she runs the floor well, and she really pursues rebounds. She has nice mid-post skill as well.

#640 - [player_tooltip player_id='751031' first='Aaliyah' last='Carruthers'], Ben Davis H.S. - Aaliyah is an energetic, strong, and quick North/South attacker. She likes to get to the basket and finish with runners/floaters. She also has some length and uses it to cause deflections defensively.

#648 - [player_tooltip player_id='751035' first='Alexis' last='Finchum'], Charlestown H.S. - I really enjoyed watching Alexis. She is a nice athlete, she has good end to end speed, and she can handle the ball. She has a nice overall feel for the game, and she can get very creative at times.

#653 - [player_tooltip player_id='751119' first='Satyra' last='Scott'], Kokomo H.S. - There were so many little, quick, fast, and explosive guards, and Satyra fits that category as well. She is an offensive weapon, because she can collapse defenses and either score it or find open teammates.

#656 - [player_tooltip player_id='751068' first='Hazel' last='Melton'], Tecumseh H.S. - Hazel is a strong front-liner who plays with a nice motor. She tries to make first contact and be physical at both ends of the floor, she posts hard, boxes out, and she had some touch at 15-feet.

.

TEAM 12:
#8 - [player_tooltip player_id='751057' first='Emily' last='Robison'], New Albany H.S. - Emily should be a good one long-term. She looks like she still might grow some, she has nice length, speed & quickness, plus she is always around the action. She is also very crafty with the ball.

#58 - [player_tooltip player_id='751300' first='Ariah' last='Scott'], Anderson H.S. - Ariah is a really nice-looking athlete. She has a strong, athletic frame, length, and she is very bouncy and active. She definitely has talent; the next step is to slow down a little and let the game come to her.

#612 - [player_tooltip player_id='751059' first='Eva' last='Scarbeary'], Homestead H.S. - Eva grew on me the more I watched her. She has nice length, a wiry-strong frame, and the potential to grow. She was extremely active, pursued rebounds as well as anyone, but also has perimeter skill.

#613 - [player_tooltip player_id='579969' first='McKenzie' last='Chapman'], Zionsville Community H.S. - I saw McKenzie over the Summer, and I enjoy her energy. She is all over the floor, she plays with urgency, but she also has a balanced skillset. She'll see minutes for a good Eagle team this year.

#615 - [player_tooltip player_id='751126' first='Taylor' last='Weyer'], Gibson Southern H.S. - Gibson Southern always has skillful, talented kids, and Taylor showed a lot of potential. She will need to get stronger, but she's long, wiry-strong, fluid, and skilled. She can play on or off the ball.

#642 - [player_tooltip player_id='751050' first='Chesney' last='Jackson'], Charlestown H.S. - Chesney's best days are well ahead of her, because she's still growing and getting stronger. At the same time, she is extremely long, she's very active, and she tries to play the "right" way with physicality.

#651 - [player_tooltip player_id='751076' first='Jayla' last='Miller'], Pike H.S. - Jayla is the pure definition of a water-bug guard. She is long, extremely quick & fast, and very active/feisty. She is a playmaker, whether she's on or off the ball. Growth and strength will serve her well.

#661 - [player_tooltip player_id='751045' first='Bryanna' last='Gillock'], Whiteland Community H.S. - Bryanna is a big, strong, powerful post prospect. Offensively, she is a low-block kid, but she did show some touch at 15-feet. Defensively, she clogs the lane and makes it difficult for opponents.
