Alexander really likes to play physical while on the floor. Ayona will surprise you at times with her ability to put the ball on the deck and drive it the cup. She usually cleans up on the glass and putbacks around the rim. Ayona will carve out space and go to work when needed for her team. She will surely use all of her fouls up each night – without leaving any leftover.
Can the Lady Volunteers make that the next step this season in Class 2A?
Owens is effective in what she does while on the floor. Ava plays well away and around the ball. She finds the open teammate when needed or simply knocks down an open jumper. Ava is a great teammate and constantly remains in positive spirits while on the floor or simply cheering from the bench. She really makes plays on the floor for herself and teammates.
Ava plays up on the North Carolina – South Carolina border in the Northwestern part of the Palmetto State at Pickens HS.
Asbelle is just another piece to this talented roster for the Lady Volunteers. Ni’yonna is a good size wing who can create her own shot on the floor and scoring opportunities. She handles the rock up the floor and drive to the cup from the wing. Asbelle finishes drives to the bucket at will. Ni’yonna plays active in the passing lanes coming up with deflections along the way.
Thomas is a shot maker from the floor. Chase came out today on fire knocking down shots from behind the 3-point line. She’s a very confident shooter and rightfully so she shoots it at a good clip. The left-handed guard from Blythewood HS had one of the better outings that Prep Girls Hoops saw today.
Chase never looked to force her shot but constantly took good productive looks all day long. Thomas averaged 16.3 ppg and 10.3 rebounds last season for the Lady Bengals.
Leamon was active all day long with her play. Zara attacked the basket with drives to the rim. The slashing Leamon plays best while in the transition game and getting out and scoring the rock. Zara finished through contact and constantly played active on both ends of the court. She helped the Lady Mavericks win a Class 5A State Championship a season ago.
Highlights
Haggard is constantly in the middle of the action on both ends of the court. Reagan is a great athlete who excels on the softball diamond and as a golfer here at Chapin HS. Reagan connected on some mid-range jumpers today. She really anticipates well on the floor where the ball is at all times. Haggard will rebound out of her area at times and handle the ball out on the wing.
Reagan brings good versatility out on the perimeter. She averaged 9.3 ppg a season ago.
Highlights
White already has good size for her young age. Morgan has great hands and catches everything thrown in her direction today. She’s a true post player who will play with her back to the basket and post up. Morgan played well through contact and surely doesn’t mind playing physical at all on her end. She did a great job of keeping the ball up high after claiming it off the glass. Morgan plays her game 2-4 feet away from the cup at all times.
Johnson was able to score the ball today while filling the lane in transition at times. Simone feels very comfortable setting up shop out on the wing. She connected on some jumpers along the way today for her efforts. Simone has the ability to play inside-out on the floor. She did a nice job of running the floor and beating defenders down the court.
Highlights
Chambliss surely brought the effort here today with her play. Jada brings a strong work ethic to the floor and a willingness to compete. She had good court awareness with some of her crafty passes to teammates. Jada leaked out in transition at times and got good looks at the bucket. She connected on some mid-range jumpers and three-pointers today.
