SubscribeProvidence Day hosts a Super Scrimmage every year that is certainly one of the best preseason days of action when it comes to high school girls basketball in the state of North Carolina. It’s a great look into how high school teams are going to look this upcoming year. What adjustments did they make in the off season? What players are stepping up after losing senior leadership from the previous season? Let’s take a look at some more play makers who knew how to make things happen for their teams.
Zhykera Brown was working hard scoring on all levels on offense. She hustles up the court looking for the open pass to score on fast breaks, and she makes smart cuts getting the open look for some points off the pass. She can knock down her shot from deep, and she jumps right into defensive mode after taking the shot grabbing a steal on the other end.
Autumn Washington was a nuisance on both ends of the court. She did a nice job repositioning herself knocking the ball away on defense. She attacked the basket aggressively scoring three point plays the hard way. She draws so much attention on the court with her size and athleticism.

Kaitlyn Hagmann was showing off her ability to shoot around the perimeter. She makes smart cuts getting the pass and putting up her shot for two points. She can score on either side of the rim, and she uses her length to cause problems on defense.
Blythe Cunningham is going to be an exciting player to watch her whole high school career. She attacks the gaps so well, and she comes off screens effectively getting the open look. She does the little things, too, like crashing the boards on offense to get some second chance points. Her ball fakes are effective creating her own space as she attacks the basket.
Jakaila Gaskin had a tough task guarding a top athlete on defense, but she handled it well blocking shots and protecting the basket. She hustled up the court being ready for the pass in transition to score through contact. She did a nice job crashing boards on both ends coming up with the rebound and scoring off second chances.
