Sometimes it takes more college interest to vault a player up the charts. Sometimes it’s as simple as getting the chance to see them go head-to-head with another top player and realizing that they are equals or better. Whatever the reason, these players have seen their stock rise and the exciting part is, they’re only juniors!
Nini is yet another player from this incredible 2025 class that is picking up offers and taking visits to D-I schools. A 5’9″ guard who is already built like a college athlete, Geretta is fast and lightning quick with the ball in her hands. It’s the same with her defense. Everything she does is smooth and fast. She is a true three-level scorer who can just as easily rise up and drain the three as put her foot in the ground and blow by her defender to finish at the rim. In this class, that is likely the strongest in the country for any one state in terms of Division-I talent, it can be hard to really stand out. She has managed to do it. Look for Nini to really make her mark this year for PC North.
Rhyian continues a trend of Mayberry’s in the top-20 of Oklahoma Girls Basketball player rankings and for good reason. As I said after first seeing her in person in Arkansas, this young lefty may be the best of the Division-I bunch! I try not to ever harp on who someone’s family is too much, but in this case it’s clear that her experience is paying off for her. She is advanced beyond her years on the defensive end and does a great job of playing passing lanes and reading things before they develop. She can absolutely shoot the lights out and when the defense starts to close out on her, she dishes some of the sweetest passes you’re ever going to see. The BTW Hornets are going to be must-see basketball this year and Rhyian is a big part of that!
Emerie moves up 25 spots in the newest rankings as I believe she has developed into a big-time prospect over the last few years. Every time I see her play, I come away impressed with how easy she makes everything look. It seems like scoring just comes natural to her. Her ability to take what the defense is giving her is preternatural and beyond her years. At times, it seems like things have really started to slow down for Emerie out there and I have this feeling that by the time high school is over, we may be looking at a Division-I athlete. Her shot-making ability is that good and she is being trained by the right people. Don’t be surprised to see her continue rocketing up the standings.
Mar’kia is another player that we’ve had our eye on here at PGH for a while. It’s been fun to watch her development as a player and her rise up the rankings. This time, it was a jump of 54 spots! Mar’kia uses her 5’9″ frame in a plethora of ways for the Bombers as she can absolutely rack up the blocks as a shot-swatting big. She also has plenty of speed and lateral movement to stay in front of speedy three’s and guards. Pratt gets up and down the floor very well and is especially adept at finishing in transition.
College coaches are gonna want to get their maps out and chart a course to Leflore to check out River Cogburn River Cogburn 5’5″ | PG Leflore | 2025 State OK sometime this season; a season which River opened up with a 21 point performance against Wister. She is a whirling dervish of a lightning-fast driving scorer and a lights-out shooter from long range that will have everyone on the bench yelling “SHOOTER” every time she touches the ball on the perimeter. I look forward to seeing River play this season and if you need an absolute scoring machine on your team… and who doesn’t? You’re going to want to check out our No. 78-ranked prospect, as well.
