Lynch has been on a tear defensively to start the season, leading all 6A 2025s in blocks per game. This is all while notching 4 or more blocks in all but one of her 8 games to start the season. At 5’11, she can guard a wide variety of positions at the point of attack. One area that Lynch is exceptional is maintaining legal positioning while contesting shot attempts, all while staying physical to alter an opponent’s decision. On the offensive end, she is active diving towards the rim following off-ball actions, taking advantage of many moving pieces in the halfcourt to attack the paint.
Highlights
7.7 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 2.1 BPG
A traditional rim protector in the paint, Schumann has done an excellent job clogging opponent driving lanes. 4th in blocks and 8th in rebounds per game, the forward has been at the forefront of the state’s frontcourt prospects.
14.6 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 2.3 APG, 4.4 SPG, 58% 2P
Proactive pressuring opposing ball handlers at the point of attack, Byers has been a difference maker all season. With active hands both tipping it away on reaches or deflections on a pass, she does her best to take away space from opponents. Offensively, Byers has consistently sought driving lanes, either self-created or within the offensive flow. Another area of benefit has been her willingness to draw contact at the rim from drives.
9.8 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 2.5 APG, 4.3 SPG, 59% 2P, 39% 3P
Wilhelm possesses an endless motor on the glass or while hustling for loose balls. Scrambling all over the floor to intercept passing lanes or trap a ball handler, the guard adds immense value for one of the state’s most potent programs who remains undefeated at 11-0. This is all on top of her consistency shooting the ball from beyond, one of the many perimeter shooters on display for this group. Ranking 5th in 6A 2025s for steals and 14th for rebounds per game, there are few guards bringing her gritty impact on the defensive end.
Daniella Bosmans
Daniella Bosmans
13.2 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 2.8 APG, 4 SPG, 52% 2P, 39% 3P
Bosmans is assertive and quick to take away the ball from the help side, immediately digging into opponents to rip away the ball. The guard has no trouble getting physical when necessary, notably proactive taking away when space on drives or when opponents pick up their dribble.
7.3 PPG, 9 RPG, 2 SPG, 1.6 BPG, 44% 2P, 48% 3P
Rumpf has been a consistent rim protector for quite some time, rotating to the rim in a timely manner or switching onto perimeter centric opponents if necessary. A large part of her defensive impact comes from spatial awareness around the rim, getting into position early on to cram the paint. Along the perimeter, Rumpf leaves just enough room to not be caught on an island, keeping just enough space to mitigate a drive while retaining her height advantage if a long contest is necessary. Along the perimeter, her efficiency beyond the arc has been remarkable, constantly a threat to drill a three following a kick out pass.
Kylie Brookfield
Kylie Brookfield
5.3 SPG
Brookfield maximizes her role by intercepting passing lanes, maintaining a high energy on every possession. She grants plenty of extra possessions for Mountain Vista, truly selfless within the system. Active in the press, Brookfield has taken advantage of poor opponent decisions.
